Four hugely important games. Seems given recent run of results and the quick succession of games that we will need to rotate players.

 

How do you see the rotation working for these games.

 

i.e. Fowler cannot play against United so makes sense to use him against Arsenal and against Benfica

 

 

Save Gerrard for the United game - give him extra time to recover?

Drop Hyypia for the Wigan game and play Agger. Play Riise at left back. Bring Didi into the team ( for Xabi ) to help protect a newish centre back partnership. Let Gerrard play more centrally with Garcia covering the right and playing he and Kewell off Cisse - think those 3 would be good against the Wigan defence.

 

Strongest team possible against Arsenal and use Cisse on the counter. Against Man Utd i hope we play a fairly attacking line up and go at them. Maybe have Xabi on the bench and rest him for the Benfica game.

 

I'd rest Carra and Finnan against Benfica and play Kromkamp and Agger.

Arsenal will be without Campbell and Lauren for our game while Cole is defo out of their game on the weekend and has barely played for months anyway so he probably wont play while Clichy is only starting training next week, Toure is playing in the African Final tomorrow and if they win f*** knows when he'll reappear (Might end up rested anyway as theyve had a good few games). Definately going to be a lot of goals to be had against Arsenal, win our next 2 and top 4 at least is hugely likely.

Rotation is not the answer. Our recent excellent run co-incided with only one or two players changing each game.

Not to far off, actually. I'm from the future and I was proved right after the Chelsea and Man Utd losses.

 

We beat Man Utd in the FA Cup and we certainly won't lose against Wigan.

Ouch!! Not sure what to think looking at those 4 games. We need wins obviously as these ARE the most important games of the season now. Forget the Chelsea game. Good results against Arsenal and United after a win tomorrow would set us up nicely for Benfica. On the other hand the wheels could rightly come off.....

I've just taken a trip to two weeks hence and here is the outcome of our next four games. Please though, if you are going to read on, don't spoil it for everyone and lump on at the bookies.

They played in the UEFA, we play in the CL so it's fine ( if the club have registered him ! ) Think it's rules 15.12 and 15.13 of the UEFA Champions League Regulations.

well that's some good news at least. roberts gave us quite a tough time at anfield. wonder who they're going to play up front? think conolly's still injured isn't he? have to be mcculloch + one.
