BG Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Let me start with a disclaimer or two. 1. I rate Rafa as our best manager since Paisley.2. I think at times that all of Crouch, Morientes and Cisse have perfomed reasonably well for us and have merits. 3. I've not included Fowler becuase clearly it;s unfair to judge him yet. However off the top of my head here's a list of strikers in the Premiership I'd swap for any of them (disregarding their ages). DrogbaCrespoNistelroyRooneyMidoKeaneDefoeDarren BentYakubuAndy ColeShearer OwenAshtonBarosHeskey Playign with forwards who are erratic finishers AND never make their own chances does make life a LOT harder. Summer cannot come soon enough in that respect.
Guest Red Mist Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I would have Henry. It's a bit harsh to exlude him from your list. I know he's not having his best ever season but I personally would take him over Heskey.

Mellor, Pongolle to that list. Pongolle porbably for me, Mellor not for me.
alias75 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 What about McBride at Fulham, works hard and gets his share of goals, simialr role to Morientas but certainly seems more effective in this league. Even Kevin Davies (cant believe im saying this)

Cheesecake Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 (edited) Klose does score a lot of headers. Unfortunately we don't put in a lot of crosses, so unless he's going to start doing his best work below sea level, or we manage to steal Pennant off Birmingham, I can't see that one working. mcbride is 33 or so isnt he? your are abromovich and I claim my 5 roubles... edit - meant the post by mikeyj Edited February 9, 2006 by DPD1973
alias75 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 mcbride is 33 or so isnt he? Thought we were just naming strikers in the PL that would do a better job than our current mob. Id take Shearer too even though hes in his mid 30's
crisps Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 maybe this should be prem strikers i DEFINITELY wouldnt swap ours for - off top of head can think of ameobiall portsmouths & sunderlands

Of the strikrs we came up against in our unbeaten un he wad one of a few (Wigans strikers were the others) who gave us problems.
Toe Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Buying Crouch may be a good thing for what he offers but selling Baros and not replacing the 'possibilities' he brought, is turning out to be the huge mistake it looked like. Not happy :/ Toothless we are.
