Guest AnfieldGrass Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Dudek Nervous. Wasn't a pen. 2nd goal typical Dudek. 5Finnan Solid as usual. 7Carra Carra 7Hyppia Solid but looked tired. 6Traore Good. 6Cisse Usual self. One or two good runs, mostly ineffective. 5Sissoko Sloppy. But tried. 6Alonso Out of sorts. Decent 2nd half 7Kewell Good. 8Morientes s****. Invisible, poor vision. 4Crouch so so for him 6 subs:Fowler Intelligent positioning as expected, not fit 7Riise Looked sharp, reinforced his place in the starting 11 7Kromkamp Solution to the RW problem??? 7 Overall: s****. No passion. No finishing (obvously) 6 Ref: Typical performance from a modern day ref. 5
anfieldgaz Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 thought Cisse had plenty of running and energy to be honest.
redjersey Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 (edited) No one worth more than a 6, apart from a 7 for Cisse who skinned Spector time afte time and got a good proportion of his crosses in. 5 for Xabi - worst I've seen him play this season. Edited February 8, 2006 by Redjersey

Tones Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Cisse was probably our best player. No more than a 5 or 6 to be honest. Morientes was really poor. One shot and nothing else all game. Finnan has been our best player over recent games and was solid enough again tonight. No more than 5s for anyone else.
Guest Syfer Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 ref kept giving you a bunch of easy freekicks, sissoko should stop diving. cisse was one of your best players tonight, plenty of running and crosses

Poor distribution you mean? Don;t get your point, you saying Momo is not meant to be an effective distributor of the ball? He was ok, but just as many sloppy plays as good ones, his energy levels were ok I guess and for as many good tackles he conceded as many fouls and was on the ground a lot.

He got himself in some excellent positions and created a good opportunity for Kromkamp. He should start the next game, doesn?t matter if he only lasts 45 min. at least we're pretty much guaranteed a goal from him ever 2 opportunities.Riise 6, did ok for the short period of time he was onKromkamp 6, same as Riise

His free kicks were perhaps a joke but his overall contribution to the game was vg and he created a brilliant chance for Crouch only for Crouch's instinct not to let him score.
Guz Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 (edited) No one merited a 7. Especially the subs, what did they do. It was great to see Fowler again but he did f*** all except one moment where he held up the ball and laid it off to Riise, apart from that very very little. I'm not having ago at him in particular but I hope he doesnt get hailed as someone kind of saviour because it'll take more than that. We couldnt string passes together tonight, again. Our players have lost touch of doing the basic things right. I think their goalie had about one save to make in the 90 minutes. Cisse and Kewell got the ball often but did nothing with it, ditto Xabi and Momo. And of course two defensive errors led to the 2 goals. Very poor display. edit ; actually thinking about it again, for about 30 mins in the first half we played decent but lacked any incisiveness or cutting edge in the final third. After they scored we went to pot. Edited February 9, 2006 by Guz

Guest Aussie_Red Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I thought Cisse was very good actually, about one of the only players doing anything. I would be excited to see him start as a right winger again and he should get crossing training from the staff, not that his crosses are that bad. I thought Sissoko did a great job too?
