Magic8Ball Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 So whats changed in the last decade ? Under Evans, poor defense, good possession play, good forwards but often the team lacked the ability/creativity to score, ie despite the forwards the team lacked a cutting edge and would often paint pretty pictures with their passing but produced few goals from it Under Houllier - good defense, poorer possession play, could only score on the counter attack, ie lacked the ability/creativity to break down teams, a cutting edge if you like Under Rafa good defense, good possession play, but cant score ie lack the ability/creativity to break down teams, a cutting edge if you like I think the last time we could break down teams through creative play was during the times of Kenny and Barnes
DanielS Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Completely inaccurate to suggest we can't break down teams through creative play these days. We do it all the time. We just can't get the stupid ball in the b*****d net. Even with 4 million oppurtunities to do so. If Henry or Horse face played for us we'd have 90 golas by now.
Guest westang Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 we were scoring for fun under evans. it was poor defence, not the lack of cutting edge/ attacking threat upfront, that hurt us.
Frosty Jack Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 If Henry or Horse face played for us we'd have 90 golas by now. And what use would they be?
