Barnesy_10 Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 I know its one of the oldest excuses in the book to blame the pitch, but for f***s sake... they spend 350 mill on players in the last few years and have had it relayed once and that was when it resembled brighton beach.... Why aren't they made to relay it.... every club pays massive amounts to maintain the quality of there pitch so it is in a good enough condition..
Guest Kev Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Chelsea would have beaten us a lot more on a decent pitch. Be thankful for small mercies.
Stevie H Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Chelsea would have beaten us a lot more on a decent pitch. Be thankful for small mercies. don't agree with that at all.
Mike Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Chelsea would have beaten us a lot more on a decent pitch. Be thankful for small mercies. thats b******s
Bailo Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 both teams have to play on it. Chelsea would have beaten us a lot more on a decent pitch. Be thankful for small mercies.Neither are true. They've been playing on it all season, got a bit used to it. Away teams play on it for 90mins a season, we've played on it 180 through the CL as well, still doesn't mean we're used to it.
Kite Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 You would think that a team willing to spend 21 million on a player just to keep him in the reserves could afford to spend a few bob putting a decent pitch in. It's a shocking pitch for a so called 'big team' but it probably suits their long ball/defensive style tactics.

It's a shocking pitch for a so called 'big team' but it probably suits their long ball/defensive style tactics. as pointed out by several people yesterday, they're getting it ready for barca's visit. their football was f***ing horrible to watch yesterday, lumping it forward on that sunday league s***house of a pitch. no wonder sissoko and alonso looked out of sorts, both of them thrive by being able to play quick passes to feet, which was impossible on that surface.
Guest Kev Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 don't agree with that at all. thats b******s And our record over the last the last nine games vindicates both your points accurately.
Kenny_ Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 both teams have to play on it. Still a s**** pitch though.
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Chelsea would have beaten us a lot more on a decent pitch. Be thankful for small mercies. Not a very enlightened comment. It should be more than obvious a bad pitch favours the team who plays on it more often, whereas a good pitch levels the playing field, so to speak.
CarraLegend Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 They've done it to stop Barca playing football while they just hoof it to Drogba its f***ing obvious.
