Guest Kev Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Henry's goal against Birmingham City yesterday shows exactly what I've been trying to say this week about pace upfront. If one of our strikers had been in that position they would not have scored that (with the remotely possible exception of Cisse). Henry is a one off, but the goal he scored was not a 'Henry Special' it was scored because of skill and pace combined.
madaboutlfc Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 I think if we had Henry in his prime in this team we would be very close to Chelsea..nearly all the games we drew at the start of the season would have been wins.. Rafas forward signings have been a bit strange with their lack of pace

surfaris Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 keep cisse then, teach him with tons of skills 24hr a day.

Guz Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Sign HenrySeriously lol Or that midget currently at Newcastle
ricflairandy Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 come on , you could have picked a better example of henry though. I totally agree apart from yesterdays goal, i mean he just blasted it , it went more or less straight to the keeper who should have done better. Good point, bad example , imo because cisse just blasts everything.

The ball to him was a good one, it was placed infront of him and he used his pace to keep ahead of the last defender and his skill to beat the keeper. Look at where Henry is just as he starts his run, put Crouch or Nando in that position, do you think they would have got a shot on target ?
Crazy Horse Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 We do need someone who we can trust to stick the ball in the net regularly. We have too many Andy Cole-esque 5 chance men.
4411 Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Well, according to some people on here, we only need a 7 goal a season striker, after all, we are Valencia 2 right?
