andyg Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Just seen a few clips of Boumsong against Man City - I can't believe we were ever interested in him or was that just forum talk - the guy hasn't got a clue

Maldini Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I keep saying this, his wife and kid are very sick at the moment, bound to affect your commitment to the game.
Kahnee Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I keep saying this, his wife and kid are very sick at the moment, bound to affect your commitment to the game. You sure you're not confusing him with Sol Campbel?
Nerik Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 He had agreed a deal with GH at one point........brrr However if it is true his family is unwell it is another story altogether. You lose focus.
Cunny Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I keep saying this, his wife and kid are very sick at the moment, bound to affect your commitment to the game. what is up with them?
Tosh Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 It's a deep seated emotional illness: They have a husband and father who plays in defence for Newcastle. The counselling is not going well
jimmylibel Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 In fairness I'm not too sure any of our defenders would look too good if we completely ignored defensive training too.
Stevie H Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 he was a fantastic prospect but seems to have had his career f***ed by his agent and choice of clubs. if he'd gone to a decent club on a bosman from auxerre, and worked with a decent manager, he'd be a different proposition now.
floyd Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Is it true, that because of his agent, Willie McKay (Barton's mentor for now), whoring Boumsong to other clubs, after we had agreed a deal in principle, that Liverpool have feck all to do with this corrupt agent. (alledely according to the French FA)

(alledely according to the French FA) GH and McKay didn't get on anyway - I remember that from during the Boumsong saga. Have had run ins in the past. I certainly hope we aren't talking to him, he's the worst kind of agent. I still find the story that Kev has put forward about Boumsong being blacklisted by the G14 clubs quite interesting though. he was a fantastic prospect but seems to have had his career f***ed by his agent and choice of clubs. if he'd gone to a decent club on a bosman from auxerre, and worked with a decent manager, he'd be a different proposition now. Agreed. Played well at Auxurre, played well at Rangers, goes to Newcastle (where they don't bother with defensive training) and all of a sudden he's crap... think he could come on a lot under a different manager.

I thought Mexes was the one most were looking to....

Stevie H Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 just covering my back mate. still can't explain cheyrou though.
Armin_Tamzarian Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 what is up with them? Not sure that info is in the public domain, all I've seen is that they're both seriously ill.
Leo No.8 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 (edited) MacKay is Djimi's Traore agent as well isn't he. Wish he'd do as good a job of unsettling Champions League winner Djimi as he is everyone else... Edited February 3, 2006 by Leo No.8
stressederic Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 You know what would help Newcastle, Boumsong and Bramble in their defensive duties and trying to shore up at the back? A big name striker.

Kahnee Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 You know what would help Newcastle, Boumsong and Bramble in their defensive duties and trying to shore up at the back? A big name striker. He was excellent at Auxerre. So were Mexes and Cisse...
Guz Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Lawrenson has said Boumsong is the joke of the premiership today. Bit harsh really, Bramble should be given that role!
Guest Anders Honoré Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 So were Mexes and Cisse... Kapo seems to have disappeared as well. weird really...
CarraLegend Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 If he actually had a defender alongside him he might turn out half decent (Maybe half decent is pushing it) but with the idiot next to him he has no idea whether to do his own job or try and cover the clown who just goes walkabouts. I'm staggered they just havent called up a kid from the ressies to play there, someone who at least even knows how to form a straight defensive line would be a start. How Bramble is a Premiership player is one of the biggest mysterys going, he found his level last week when they played Cheltenham.
Kahnee Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 he found his level last week when they played Cheltenham. And they caused him problems
Bootle Buck Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 He like a couple of others he was overhyped at Auxerre. Mexes, Cisse and Bounsong have looked very average if not poor since they left. Maybe their coach got the best of them. Maybe they played their hearts out for a big money move.
