Yeah, hes scoring s*** loads in brazil. Aparently the brazilian fans were going mad that he wasnt in the squad for the last world cup, calling for scolari`s head and all , especially after they strugged to qualify. They soon forgot though :D

Winning the thing usually buys you a slight honeymoon period. He got the weekend off.

People talk about Fowler as a great goal scorer which he was but NOBODY has the stats or ability of Romario as an out and out goal scorer except Pele who's stats are shady to say the least.

If I met Pele in a Pub I'd say...

"Oh Pele you were a great player, but including hatricks scored when you were 14 against your mum in the back garden wearing a Brazil top!!" "NOOOOO!!!"

He's on over 944 goals so far and hit 40 a few days ago. Still he got 35 goals last season which ain't bad.

Just found this. Not a bad record...

Class striker honestly. The only other better striker in the world at the time when he was killing them at Barcelona, was Van Basten.

He was always one of the players i admired the most in my childhood, his pace and eye for goal was always something to behold.

The fact that he is still killing them in a league that is not exactly s***!! is a testament to how good a player he actually is. If he played for any other country he would have 200 caps by now.

Reading that article it's amazing he's had such a long career

considering he's fond of the sauce and hates training.

Very weird. To be honest I'm surprised he's still scoring so many. That

league can't be too hot as I saw him play about 2/3 years ago and he seemed

so slow it was untrue. Perhaps it was an off day but he didn't look at the races at all.

Posted

its an amazing career record and in his prime he was the best, but his recent goals dont quite have the same merit as those he scored at the top of his career because there is a campaign for him to score 1000 goals and his club are playing lots of friendlies against very poor teams.

is pushing for a world cup place.

is he f***. vasco have arranged a series of friendlies against spod opposition to help him reach his 1000 goals. he hosts a chat show and is 40 years old ffs. as if he's going to displace ronaldo, ronaldinho, adriano et al.

Absolutely - Romario is a legend in his own right, and give him a chance I'm sure it'll still end up in the net.

But you look at Brazil's choice of strikers, and there's simply no way he'll be in the squad...

Two goals more than tevez last year, and top scorer with 22 goals in the league.

not too shabby

Why does he have to displace one of them? Surely they'll need some back up? Top Scorer in his domestic League last season says how good he still is.

About as much chance as England recalling Sheringham

With sven in charge, i wouldnt write anything off. If he stayed in charge for another 15 years backham would be playing at age 45.

It says in that report that he has 71 goals in 84 international performances!

That includes 54 friendlies against Easter Island.
