Yeah I noticed that on MOTD last night.. Heskey is all over him. Tell you what, though, that Heskey looked good.

Our record of buying strikers over the last 15 years or so is appalling.

£11m for Heskey, £10m for Diouf, £8.5m for Collymore who was brilliant but completely bonkers, £14m for Cisse.

It really is unbelievable how poor we've been in the transfer market when it comes to forwards.

The only decent ones we've had have come through the youth system. Riedle was one who was quality but was coming to the end of his career...

Very true that. Rafa's methods are very much about goals from anywhere (and Gerrard has 18 already) and I thought he wouldn't particularly want an Owen or a Van Nistelrooy type - someone who demands the service of the entire team. But we've been so wasteful in front of goal...we would be up there with Chelsea had we been converting more of our chances.

Heskey is a funny one. Over the last few seasons he really seems to

make an effort against us more so than anyone else.

Why he didn't bother his a*** while he was here I'll never understand.
