Guest Keeper74 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 If i am not mistaken at the end of this season, harry only has a year left on his contract.do you think he will be offered a new one and when?
Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 There aren't many players in the Premier League better than Harry Kewell, so why not.
CaptainXabi Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 There aren't many players in the Premier League better than Harry Kewell, so why not.A nice unbiased assessment there ....He will get a new contract, but I think Rafa will make him sweat it a little.
Skillz Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 At the end of this season he will have 2 years left, if my memory serves me right (he signed a 5 year deal). If his form continues through to the end of the year we may try to extend but we may also wait till after the world cup as we may get some big offers. Personally i think Rafa will want to see how Gonzales settles in and how Harry's form/fitness is next year and make a decision next january. If he is still fit and in form i can see Harry getting a new contract regardless of Gonzales form as I believe Harry will be used at times as the second striker (eg last season at leeds) where his intelligence can be devastating. But i'm an Ozzie to so this is biased as well. There aren't many players in the Premier League better than a fully fit Harry Kewell, so why not. Thats probably a better choice of wording AussieRed, reads a little better. Remember he still has more to do to convince some (not us biased Ozzie's though )
Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) Not being biased at all, just being honest. Who would you rather have on the left from the Premier League? Edited February 2, 2006 by AussieRED
Skillz Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Hey don't worry, i agree. Still think it will 12months b4 he gets that contract though just to see how he goes injury and form wise. Unless Rafa feels they can sign him cheaper b4 the world cup but i doubt Harry would. He will wait till after the World cup and see what his options are after that IMO.

ozziecazzie Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Too many HK posts, boys.Give it a rest, and enjoy the "fat, lazy, couldn't give a toss" silence
RP Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) Quelle surprise. On a totally different matter, anyone know what Jari is up to at the moment? Edited February 2, 2006 by RP
Crazy Horse Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Bears. Do you think they crap in the woods?
David Hodgson Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Quelle surprise. On a totally different matter, anyone know what Jari is up to at the moment? You may sneer RP, but Kewell was very clearly our man of the match last night, and has been very consistent for some time now, I know some people love to think that HK is just a 'favourite' for some of us, but might it be because he's a very very good player ?

I also think he is a very good player and I am delighted to see him returning to form - why wouldn't I?? But I do smile at the appearance of so many fans from Australia and it is funny to remember the lifelong Finnish Reds who we don't actually see any more. I wonder if there are any parrallels to be drawn?
Guest Keeper74 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 RPi see youi point.but i for one was a reds fan long before kewell and will be a reds fans long after. in saying that, hope he stays cause he is an aussie
cestrianred Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Carry on playing like last night (he was excellent, fantastic first half with pace, touch, vision) and generally over the last 9-10 games & it's a certainty. I see Harry close up (when he's attacking the Anny Road end) on the left from the Paddock & he's brimming confidence at present. He has that belief & almost a swagger at present-long may it continue.Links well with JAR as well down the flank. I always hoped & believed that we'd see the real Harry this season & it's going to plan.as a footnote, from memory, he set Robbie up for a few goals at their Leeds overlap from memory also.

sutty Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Not too different to locals claiming Fowler looked slim and fit last night! I couldn't see because his aura was blinding me.
Guest JimmyJames Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Not too different to locals claiming Fowler looked slim and fit last night! I think he did. Look. Slim. Not. Fit.His movement was excellent though.

But I do smile at the appearance of so many fans from Australia and it is funny to remember the lifelong Finnish Reds who we don't actually see any more. I wonder if there are any parrallels to be drawn? I'm not a lifelong Liverpool fan. I only started supporting Liverpool the day Kewell signed. Last season, because he was injured, I hardly watched a game. Most games are at odd hours anyway because you poms are in the ar*e end of the world, and I even turned the TV off when he went off injured so early in the European Cup final. Who's this Bobby Flower we've just signed? We should have signed Viduka.
Leo No.8 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Kewell was superb last night - he looks so quick and strong, Melchiot was soiling himself every time he ran at him, and the Dutchman isn't the slowest defender in the Premier League. People talk about Fowler being God - I genuinely thought only divine intervention could make Harry Kewell move as quickly as he used to again, but somehow Rafa and his team have helped him get there. With that pace back, he is as good as anyone - delighted to see him doing so well (as I predicted at the start of the season ).

Soon he will be winning games for us if his progress continues.

Back in August I said by the time Janurary comes around Kewell should be back to his best and scoring.
cestrianred Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Pennant doing similar on the right next season (he's quick) amd Gonzalez as well and we'd be well sorted on the flanks.
