He was really pissed off about being substituted wasn't he! Wonder what he said to Morientes. He must be getting pissed off about being pulled off on the hour every match

To be honest I think you've hit the issue there. Pretty much every game he does get taken off on the hour mark, as Rafa looks to switch it around slightly. He was probably a bit disappointed to be taken off tonight just after we'd taken the lead.

He's a big lad (no pun intended) so I'm sure he'll get over it. It's all part of Rafa's master plan.

Plus Morientes and Fowler to me seems nicely reminiscent of Morientes and Raul, and I think the pair of them could be very effective.

Rafa must be getting dissapointed with his performances too to be honest. He was excellent upto the WBA game, since then he's been a bit stale and ineffective since then.

'FFS here comes the chosen one!' :P

Crouchy had no cause for complaint. He was up against 10 men and barely troubled their defence. He missed a couple of easy headed opportunities too. Rafa was correct to take him off and give Robbie the welcome he deserved.

May I be the first to say...sack Crouchy ;)

He'll always be a bit one dimensional IMHO so I guess there will be games like this. But he's a trier in general so let's back him!

Since his purple patch in late Nov early Dec when he finally startd scoring he has been very ineffective. It's almost like he has stopped putting in the effort that endured us to him during his goal drought. I have no doubt he will come good but maybe Rafa used him a bit too much and he has become a little complacent. Some extra competition from Fowler will do him good. I didn't care for his "Not me again" look when Fowler came on. Rafa will bring him back down to earth.

his "not me again" look is really not a nice thing to see. ;) coincidentally, in a number of matches, crouch did not do well in second half; largely ineffective. was it because of his stamina? pako really needs to work him out...

Or you could take his sulking as him being very competitive and wanting to play.

I think players get far too much cack from looking disappointed when they are being substituted. Me, I actually want them to be disappointed. It shows that they have the will to win, to succeed.

he contributed about as much as Mori did last night..... e.g. naff all..

I have noticed him look pissed off at being subbed, but on the other hand what player would look happy at being subbed? the kind of player you wouldn't want playing in your team! The fact he was pissed off tells me he wanted to keep playing and score goals... hopefully each of the 10 outfield players share the same opinion.

Very unlike Crouchy I thought last night. Although I would expect any player to be p1ssed off about being substituted.

I suggest he starts sticking the ball in the net and he will have nothing to worry about!

He was quite effective against the bitters at the end of December from where I was watching - in a pub in Wetherby ;)

Crouch, Morientes, Cisse...all seem to be coming in for some stick. Yet all strikers go through hot and cold patches. Hmmm.

So that wasn't Mori who timed his run to perfection to get the ball from Gerrard, then use his head and pass it back to him to score? Must have been someone else then.

Also, I thought the Mori / Fowler combination was beginning to look tasty and Mori's confidence started to improve. Played quite well with Fowler and I wouldn't mind seeing him and Fowler up front with Gerrard, Kewell and Garcia behind them in the next few matches.

He did look well pissed off at having to be taken off on the hour mark AGAIN. Dunno what he said to mori but mori smiled. Apparently Mori's english isn't the best so maybe Crouch said "It should be you going off you useless c***" and Mori just did that smile thing you do when you didn't hear what someone said but you can't be arsed getting them to repeat.

Crouchy's form hasn't been all that since Everton (neither have we actually so maybe it's not a coincidence) even though he scored the game after that.

Sure Moro and Fowler had probably linked up better than himself and Fowler in training. Presuming that they did, and as there wasn't really too much between him and Moro performancewise last night, the exceptionally tall striker could have no complaints.

There patches are pretty lengthy. I don't think between them they have 10 league goals this season. That is reason to be worried. With the exception of Crouchy in December none of them hgas any consistent run of goals.

It must be frustrating. A few times this season Garcia has been the worst player on the pitch and not been substituted, although changing tactics is not just about taking the worst player off the field.
