Dominus Maximus Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 God debut, comfortable. had only one mistake, which would seem okay for an Anfield debut. Well done lad.

IgPig Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 He didn't keep Alonso away from the goal line did he..... yeah its his fault. He's s***.
LFCNeil90 Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 looked comfortable on the ball yes and I forgot it was his debut as (I missed his 1 mistake) he just blended into the team. But your a bit early with this post as the doom mongers won't allow it.
Eiler99 Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Good debut for him. Some very good tackles, especially the one to disposses Melchiot where he just waited for him to take his eye off the ball. Should've scored in the first half from the header though. But good debut.
Gomez Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 On the plus side Vidic had a shocker according to R5
Guest westang Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 good debut performance overall; looks like he will need some time to get on with the physical side of EPL though.
Eskimo Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Played well and good to see him bringing the ball out of defence...

Guest westang Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Hehe, I bet you wrote the last part before the game was even played..... to be honest, nope. credit to the lad, he has kept emile in his pocket on a number of occasions. but to be one of the two centre backs to play in EPL, he has to show a more commanding presence. physically he looks good but he got to learn to use his body and strength to make some area his own...

Are you trying to say he needs to be more aggressive?
Guest westang Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 hat just sounds weird. Are you trying to say he needs to be more aggressive? you may say so, more physical and aggressive.
Kenny_ Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Thought the lad came through his debut pretty well. Looked a bit nervous in the beginning, one or two dodgy clearences. But grew better and better during the game and can be pleased with his performance tonight.
Eiler99 Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 you may say so, more physical and aggressive. I think a lot of the times he was passive today was on purpose. On atleast two occasions Heskey got the ball and Agger just stood off him, let Emile have the first touch and then took care of the knock down. Why go for a 50/50 in the air with Heskey when there's a 90 percent chance you will get the rebound while Heskey is trying to control the ball? Very clever defending if you ask me.
smicer07 Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Looked terribly nervous early on, only to be expected though. Improved

LOL LOL Raf probably told him that Emile has the first touch of a pinball machine!!
Eiler99 Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 LOL LOL Raf probably told him that Emile has the first touch of a pinball machine!! Wasn't really meant as a dig at Heskey though. My point is that instead of going for balls he was only 50/50 to win he let the opposition get the first touch and made sure they didn't get a second. That's good defending.
Paisley Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Good debut but seemed to be drop quite deep a lot of the time.
Cunny Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 tentative at first but settled welllooked a little lax at times but a promising debut nonetheless

Early days I know, but I like the look of this lad
Jonesy Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 LOL LOL Raf probably told him that Emile has the first touch of a pinball machine!! Rafa probably had Agger marking Cisse in training for that one then!
DonRafa Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) Rafa probably had Agger marking Cisse in training for that one then! Ooh, cutting, that! ......but probably true Edited February 2, 2006 by DonRafa
