badtodabone Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 just read this on the mirrors website ALONSO IS ON REAL'S HIT LIST LIVERPOOL face a summer battle to hold on to Xabi Alonso after Real Madrid targeted the midfielder. The Anfield ace is part of a batch of new players - including Arsenal's Ashley Cole - on the Madrid shortlist. Alonso nearly moved to the Spanish giants in 2004 but a £12m deal was scrapped by then coach Jose Camacho at the last minute. cant believe he would want to leave us to join that circus
Scally Bob Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Quiet news day is it then? I'm only surprised they didn't print it on the Saturday before we played the Munsters.
Dalglish Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 According to press reports Real want to give the club a new face. On their wishlist:Ibrahimovic (top-priority for 45 Mio Euros)Podolski (1. FC Köln)A. Cole (Arsenal)Alonso (Liverpool)Poulsen (Schalke 04)Raul Garcia (Osasuna)
Fagan Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I'm sure they do want him, He's one of the best in the world in his position. Pity they won't get him. he'd rather play with the champions of Europe.
Nate. Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 On another note then, how much would it cost to tempt you into letting him go? 30 million? more?
Beardsley Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I find it strange if it's true he even considered going there. Isn't he Basque? Thought they hated everything related to Madrid... Anyway, I'm sure he'll tell them to f***k right off.
Cobs Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 On another note then, how much would it cost to tempt you into letting him go? 30 million? more?depends on how much it'd cost to get Lampard to replace him............
Fagan Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 On another note then, how much would it cost to tempt you into letting him go? 30 million? more? yep, 30M and they can have him. Noone is worth that, in todays game, unless they bring with them guaranteed merchandising worth the same amount.
badtodabone Posted February 1, 2006 Author Posted February 1, 2006 On another note then, how much would it cost to tempt you into letting him go? 30 million? more? not for sale unless he asks to gothen for as much as we can screw out of the b@stards
Stevie H Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 On another note then, how much would it cost to tempt you into letting him go? 30 million? more? f*** that. there's no amount of money.
floyd Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Wasn't there a story about Xabi being sat in a Cafe, whilst still at Real Sociedad , and being asked about a move to Franco's Madrid, and him saying "No chance"?
Nate. Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 f*** that. there's no amount of money. I agree, but head before heart there comes a time where money could get to the figures where you could replace one world class player and bring in three for the same sum. I'd hate for him to leave and I don't think there' a grain of truth in it as such, just interested to know what it would take to get people to budge a bit.
Scally the Wag Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I'd sell for a decent fee... as long as we have a watertight loan deal for the next ten years as well.
Beardsley Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Or, we could do a straight swop with David Beckham. Then we will sell enough t-shirts to buy Ronaldinho...
Andyjandy Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 110 million pounds.Thats just ridiculous. Noone is worth that. 105 million pounds and a lock of beckhams hair at the most.
floyd Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 lock of beckhams hair at the most.Gary will be most upset
Spanish_fan Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 (edited) I read the article in Spanish and it sounds to me like a lot of bulls****. They say that he wouldn't cost more than 15 million euros, less than what Liverpool paid for him . Xabi Alonso was about to join them before coming to Liverpool but Camacho rejected the option cause he wanted a Makelele type of midfielder, not a playmaker. There are many Basque players who have played for Real Madrid. One thing is that Basque supporters hate Real Madrid and another that Basque players want to play for Real MAdrid where they are going to get paid more money and have a chance of winning medals. Coyler Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 There are many Basque players who have played for Real Madrid. One thing is that Basque supporters hate Real Madrid and another that Basque players want to play for Real MAdrid where they are going to get paid more money and have a chance of winning medals......retiring to live the rest of their lives in medalled shame, dying, and then going to hell. Sure the point is moot, he's not going, if he does he'll be dead to us all anyway. Franco, betrayal of the Basque people, and eternal damnation aside, anybody who runs away to join that circus needs their head examined.
