Both cities have a musical heritage to rival the likes of New York, Detroit and Berlin which is made even more incredible when you take into account the short distance between them. Both are fiercely proud of the noise they make and both, of course, claim to be better than the other.

Is there a difference between Scouse music and Mancunian music?

Could ?Blue Monday? ever have been made in Liverpool?

Could the romanticism of Shack ever come out of Manchester?

Does Liverpool?s sea-faring history point to a different musical future than Manchester?s industrial heritage?

And does each cities ethnic mix play any part in this?

Is Manchester better organised than Liverpool?

Or is it all coincidental bullsh*t?

What say you?
