"Since the year-end the company has sold Milan Baros, El-Hadji Diouf and Josemi for total fees amounting to £13,845,000. The clubs has acquired the registration of Jan Kromkamp for a fee of £4,345,000."

That makes it look like although Josemi and Kromkamp was a swap deal, they were each values at £4.345m

With Milan reported at £6.5m, and Diouf at £3m, that nearly makes sense!

I had thought Diouf went for £4m though...

Oh dear!

Josemi valued at 4.345 million?

Theoretically doesn't the profit before tax of £9.5m (think it's £7.4 million or something after tax) coupled with the £13.8 million generated in transfers payments, minus the £4.3 million payment for Kronkamp and th £5.8 million for Agger suggest we have around about £11 million in the bank now? (Obviously doesn't take into account other expenses and revenue generated since last July)

don't remember a fee being mentioned for diarra. thought he went for free.

Fairly sure it was an undisclosed fee mate - the speculation was suggesting something in the region of a couple of million if I remember correctly.

I have him down as £2m, in June - so before year-end indeed...

We have £678,000 cash in the bank as of the Annual Report - but then we are owed and owe large sums as well...

Well I suppose I should have said a theoretical profit of £11 million now rather than 'in the bank' as such.

Put in figures like that it really does look like good business on our behalf.

Does anyone know the payment structure of the Agger deal ? Another thread mentioned it was appearance based rather than a straight 5,8m cash.

I am not doubting you mate, all I meant was if he was before year end then his fee (if we got one) would have been included in the figures you originally quoted. If he was after year end then any fee would be included in the accounts for the current year, wouldn't they?

I am no accountant like so I could be totally wrong.

Diarra went for £2m (?3m), he had a clause in his contract that let him leave for that amount.

Our finances really are looking pretty rosy when you consider the amount of money we took in after the year's end, both in terms of transfers and merchandising.

I think it was something like £2m down the rest follows later, but don't quote me on that.

The value of Josemi/Kromkamp is surely a book value as it was a straight swap and relates directly to the fee paid by Villareal last summer.

Well if we're putting a value on Krompkamp based on what Villareal paid for him during the summer that would imply Villareal by taking Josemi at that value Villareal are cooking the books on a scale comparable to Enron!!!:P

Is there something we should know about Kromkamp? Is he dying or something? How the f*ck did they do a straight swap?

Has Josemi played for them yet BTW?

Completely but it cancels out the book value of Josemi.

Should have valued them both at £20mill for a laugh

Haha, I was wondering the same thing when he signed.

Villareal: "ugh, this talented dutch international hasn't really learned the language yet in his six months here. what shall we do?"

Liverpool: "We've got a rightback who knows the language. He's been sh*t for us, but what do you say?"

The response I am imagining is Homer Simpsonesque.

Reminds me of an old heap of a car I had which I was pushing down the road one day coz it was knackered and a car dealer I knew saw me and offered me a swap - my heap of junk for this perfectly OK car of his. I bit his hand off and to this day I haven't got a clue why he did it.
