I very much doubt that. He can't even get in to the starting lineup most of the time, Anders Svensson is ahead of him in the pecking order.. and that is saying something.

 

Kim was an exciting prospect with lots of potential, but he has not lived up to the hype at all. A fairly good player, but he's not better than any of our current central midfielders, and I still can't see how anyone could compare him to Didi?! He is and has always been an attacking midfielder, his best attributes are his passing and his vision. He is quite crap at defending.

To replace Didi as one of 4 midfielders I don't think you need to be the exact same player (where doyou find a copy of Didi anyway). Kim developed a lot at Djurgardens, even further at Rennes and I think he's ready for the next step.

If we are looking for a new didi, the closest I can think of is Christian Poulsen at Schalke. very good player whose contract expires in the summer.

 

with xabi and momo already in there as more defensively oriented midfielders though, I think it might be worth considering buying more of a forward-oriented central midfielder to fill gerrard's shoes when he's not playing.

Is right. We should be going after this fella in the summer, espically considering the UEFA ruling with regard to homegrown players. He is both homegrown and good.

I would prefer both Barton and Nolan to Källström tbh. Quite similar players to Gerrard, although of course not at the same level. But they're both good players, and they support us. The problem could be the price.. and maybe the fact that they won't play regularly?

Anders Svensson being ahead of him is just saying that Källström isnt exactly suited to the way Sweden play. Other than that I agree, he isnt good enough. And nothing like Didi, Kim is a bit like Lampard: fat, quite powerful and with an excellent shot.
