Falconhoof Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 could definately do a job, not sure how many games he'd get for us though.
jimmylibel Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 So who has tapped him up to you reckon? Arsenal?

Stigger Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 City must be gutted after they stood by him through all the troubles he's had and now he's decided he wants to go. I'd have him if we didn't have 4 or 5 central midfielders already.
Guest Red Mist Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Anywhere but here, thanks. City are doing alright, why does he want to leave? Does he think he's too good for them? 'cos he's not, far from it.
Vlad JNR Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 They've rejected the request. Seems to be something over contract discussions. They've offered to double his wages and now he has put in a transfer reques, according to sky, although people close to barton say its not about money
Scally Bob Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Barton? No, I don't think so. Modern-day Davey Thompson.
anny road Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 he is trying to force there hands he'll get his contract

Not saying we should go for him or anything but I think he's been great for City this year, I wouldnt be too displeased if we got him. Wasnt he on the TV a couple of weeks ago though, saying he only wants to play for Man City ?? Reckon he's a poor mans Gerrard though.
Ian Brown Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Good player I reckon, although it's hardly like we need to strengthen that area of the team. He'd jump at the chance though...
CarraLegend Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I'd go for him if we're willing to let Hamann go in the summer, think he's a cracking player, the "sign so and so because he's scouse" I find is the most irritating argment ever but this lad is a quality player imo. He'd walk straight into Utd or Arsenals team so i'd be surprised if either of them dont go for him.
Guest DjibriLFC Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Would anyone like him to join Fowler at Liverpool, would be a very good squad player if not 1st teamer, anything can happen as we all know.

Anybody hear that blert of a blue going on about how we'd wasted £30 million on strikers and then went on to talk up Beattie? Oh dear. Edited January 30, 2006 by YKI

He's very fond of Liverpool these days. YKI said: They were just talking about in on Merseyside. Guest Kev Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Spoken to someone who knows him and we have not been mentioned.

Guest YKI Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Fella on the panel, a regular on the show just goes "Evertonians live in the World of reality." The irony of it.
anny road Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 as I said in the General...he is forcing there hands he will get his contract I imagine
