Tetti Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 On a bitterly cold night, the two stars of the show were the inflatable sheep being chucked around the crowd and then at the Beeb commentary window at half time. Credit as well to the large Piglet figure being waved around. Not as cold inside the ground as it was outside. Thank God for Maccy D's coffee and " a number" of layers, two hoods, two pairs of gloves, extra socks and tights under my jeans. Thank you to those who mentioned the jack boots I was wearing to keep my feet warm Oh and we won, the game was s**** and traffic after was even worse. Got to stroke Dave G's hair though so not totally a wasted night.
Elisha_Scott Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I dont know if anyone was near me, I was row W, seat 97, at the back next to teh commentary box, but there was a gang of about 15-20 lads, only teenagers, absolutely horrible little b******s, loads of racist s*** getting sang, all sorts of stupid stuff, ' I predict a riot' - Little t***s, I was for once, ashamed to be a red, stood near to them, I apologised to a copper on the way out too.

Saw them. The police were having a go at them before kick off. I was row R, directly in line with the commentry box but a few rows back. Also a big middle finger to the g*******s singing "he cracked her 5 times" about Cisse. Shipman songs going in the pub before the game as well but I suppose that's to be expected after last weeks events outside Old Trafford. Shouldn't focus on the t***s though, fans were all-round decent enough and in good humour today, full credit to the sheep and the lad at the front with the European Cup which was at Luton. Fair play to the stewards for holding it up with him as well.
Kenny_ Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Saw Big Ears in the crowd again. well in tage lad
Nebraska Red Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 just back from the match myself, well it was an afternoon at the bar and then off to watch some indoor footy. poor game, poor pitch, lousy oposition who seemed intent on kicking us off the pitch at times. nicely taken PK, nice goal by Riise and a decent full game debut for Cruzcampo. Morientes was awful, Cisse was wasteful, the midfield looked like they had never met before today and apart from Hyppia and Cruzcampo, the defence was wobbly at times. on the plus side, we won and got no major injuries, we only had 1 booking and a few players got a rest. unfortuneately, the bar was still full of Manc fans for most of the first half and they took great delight in reminding me of last week's score. I took delight in a rendition of 5 times as they finally beggared off. i was a bit disappointed that i did not get my Xabi Alonso super goal.

Nathan Explosion Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Got to stroke Dave G's hair though so not totally a wasted night. psl Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 It was very cold, its a terrible ground and an awful match. Still, we won so I went home happy.
Behind Enemy Lines Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I bet I'm not the only one who thought this thread was about .. something else... ... toy's & sheep !
Stevie H Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Was very near you, not a clue how near though as I wasn't in my proper seat. Directly under the box throwing sheep at Gary Linekar. lineker mentioned that at half-time on the bbc. well funny.
Gilps Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 s*** ground, s*** match, s*** pies and it was too bloody cold. I feel as rough today as Paul Caruso looked yesterday. At least we're through.
Bailo Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Maybe not the right thread, but did anyone catch what Motson said about Cisse suing people re: the arrest the other day? Sounded as if he denies it happened, but didn't catch it all.
Sara Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I know the lad who was chucking the sheep about. Dunno the other idiots tho.
Guest Red Flame Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Heard some racist sh*te being sung in the pub before the match, sounds like the same group. What racist stuff? About who?
cymrococh Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 What racist stuff? About who?I heard nothing about a particular player just random racism, not going to repeat it here.

Jonesy Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Oh I'd also like to thank the clunt who read out this annoucement over the P.A system at some point in the first half. "Would Micheal Shields please return home immeidately. Micheal Shields please return home immediately." Classless twunts!!

jon_hall Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Nice to see Jonesy looking extremely worse for wear and drinking a coke, followed by two pints of lager. Could be worse, Paul Caruso was a lightweight.
