Taipei (Taiwan) - what to see

I'll be going to Taipei the last week of April and I'm arriving on the Friday and have the weekend in Taipei before I go to Miaoli County for a few days of work

 

Never been in Taipei before, but heard there a "snake street" there which is supposed to be scary as hell. Besides that I don't know what to see?

 

Can anyone help...?
