Swipe Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Money must be all that matters to Carlo: Linkage
Benitez Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 lol! No footballing ambition, but who can blame him, gets paid fec knows how much more than he would anywher else, to maybe play 6 games a season if he's lucky. Nice.
Swipe Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 It baffles me. I'd understand it if he was a s*** keeper who couldnt believe his luck to even be at the club, but he's not.
Benitez Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 yeah, tis a bit baffling. As you say, if he was not very good, then you could see why! Or if he was maybe really young and learning with a good 10-12 years left of his career. But he's at a stage of his career where maybe he has 3 or 4 good years left at the top, and it seems he's going to spend it getting splinters in his a***. But of course - Cech could get hurt and be out for months. And then Cudicini is back in. So that's one big argument in favour, along with the pay-packet. Nice work if you can get it!
owenthomas Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 (edited) interesting.. i thought that Ranieri signed Cech (or at least instigated the transfer).. anyone put me straight on that? EDIT: sorry, just to clarify - that comment is in response to this from the bbc story: "The 32-year-old Italian has been second choice for Jose Mourinho since he signed Czech international Petr Cech" Edited January 21, 2006 by owenthomas

Guest Red Mist Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Just another Bogarde. Chelsea seem to have a fondness for expensive t***ts who are only interested in bleeding the club without giving anything back.
stressederic Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Alternatively, he could be nicely settled in England. He could have a wife and kids over here and doesn't fancy uprooting them back to the continent.
drdooom Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Thing is, with all these injured keepers, he'd actually have a pretty good chance of making the Italian WC squad if he was playing regularly and as well as we all know he can. He's a sap. Obviously. A world cup lasts a month, money is forever. Right .. ?
Falconhoof Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 any footballer who goes season after season without playing will lose some of the talent and understanding of his game. He'll regret it when he looks back at the lost years, same for Wright Phillips and the rest of them.
Elisha_Scott Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Alternatively, he could be nicely settled in England. He could have a wife and kids over here and doesn't fancy uprooting them back to the continent. Why not go to another club in England then? Personally I think he is over-rated anyway, but there you go!

WelshSpikeMikey Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Hope he breaks his arm, the greedy c***.
