I have it on good authority that Liverpool have enquired about getting Robbie back on a free transfer.

And who's this 'authority'? Krusty the clown?

Someone I know through work is a close friend of one of the directors at Anfield.

Look, I'm not one to post this kinda stuff usually but he told me today it was on the cards.

no theyve told Raffa

Does he clean the boardroom whilst Parry and Rafa discuss targets?

You mean they actually discuss them?

I posted this last week as I'd heard the same.

Must be some mileage in it I reckon.

If City want a fee - it's off though.

he'll be brilliant for when we are 2 nil up in the closing stages of a game, when our oponents throw 5 players up front and leave 2 players to defend their area.

Seems to be mileage in it every transfer window

FFS if this comes off kudos to the poster and also to Les. Always thought that the lack of info was due to Raf keeping his cards close to his chest. It's probably more cos folk are scared of having the piss ripped out of them.

If you can disprove it then please do so, if not then please sack the feckin sarcasm off unless it's wild judgement or completely unrealistic or summat.

This lad has posted on here in good faith, leave him be.

If Fowler accepts that he will be 4th/5th choice then maybe there could be some truth in it. He will not be guaranteed playing time, he will however be at the club he loves, close to where he lives and he surely does not need the money.

Lets sign him in time to score against the Mancs for the 2nd weekend in a row!!!! :bleh:

I suppose we do have an opening in the chubby striker with an excellent finish department following yesterday's news.

Overweight 5th choice striker to bang a few goals in the ressies? Yep we sure do! Bring him in :D He can be the half time mascot as well.

Personally I can see both sides of the argument. He hasn't been anywhere near good enough for a long time now but if he will be free and will accept a pay as you play contract or such like, then where is the risk?

There is a chance he will continue along the route he has been travelling since he left the Reds but there is always the chance that th eopportunity to return to the club he loves will spur him on to get fit again. If he accepts he won't be anywhere near first choice, and Rafa and Paco believe that they can get him training again then why not?

My only worry would be that some fans wouldn't have him on the bench and that as soon as we go a goal down or are struggling to score they will be calling for Fowler to be brought in - if Rafa doesn't bring him on and we go on to lose then it may be used as a stick to beat him with by a small minority.

For the record, I can't see it happening but thanks for passing on what you have heard.

Fowler was washed up 5-6 years ago

he still scored goals for us in the treble season and scored goals for leeds the following season before injury struck again.

He's been washed up for about three years.

I can't see Mellor getting that loan move to Wigan if we'd wanted to bring Fowler in as a fifth choice striker. It's only through a lot of bad luck with injuries and suspensions that he'd get a game, and I can't see him wanting to come here if that was his status.
