Guest sniffer Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Ipswich usually are good i think last year they were in the final, but their current U18s are at the bottom of their league it depends how many other players they have that qualify for youths that maybe play in the resrves. I thought they won it last year?
Benitez Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 reminder for anyone with e-sessy ticket - this is on now. Decent feed it is too! I have no idea what the score is, cos I started watching it about 15 mins in
Benitez Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 0-0 at half time. not a bad game either. Our problem seems to be tho - we have no strikers Some decent approach work and some half decent passing, but no one really at the end of anything!
madaboutlfc Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Young Zidane... if you saw the game you would know what I mean.
Guest jlb21 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 if you saw the game you would know what I mean. I saw the game and know what you mean ! It's just a joke, because GH was saying the same about Cheyrou...
Benitez Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 if you saw the game you would know what I mean. I saw the game. He's a good young player, playing against other young players of the same age group. I ain't gonna label him anything but that
alias75 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Sure i read somewhere that Antwi is as good as anyone at the club when they do their fitness tests etc.. not bad for a 17 year old. With a lot of players with that physique you find they've made the grade more because of their physical talents than their footballing ability but Antwi defends well and looks good on the ball.
Maldini Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Think that was Hobbs, there was talk just after he signed that he was one of, if not the most fit players at the club.
Liverpoolway Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Think that was Hobbs, there was talk just after he signed that he was one of, if not the most fit players at the club. No, it was definately Antwi. Steve Hunter mentioned it a while ago. He quoted Paco Herrera as saying Antwi was the fittest player at the club. In a non-gay way of course
Maldini Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 (edited) I definitely read on here or RAWK that the club's staff did tests and were amazed at how much Hobbs could run, people were saying that maybe that's why we were trying to convert him to a midfielder (as was thought at the time) It was Owenthomas who said it at the time, he's mates with Hunter so Hunter either got his wires crossed tonight or back then...or they're BOTH supremely fit Edited January 20, 2006 by Maldini

Maybe that's where the confusion's arisen? Edited January 20, 2006 by Red_Polo
johngibo YPC Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 one of the coaches said to me that Antwi was signed mainly for his physical attributes and his 'amazing engine, he can just run and run and run'. They were confident they could work on him to turn him into a good player, although by the sounds of it he's pretty good already.

There were reports on here of the coaches giving him some tests and realising he could run all day and so they could make a midfielder out of him. Wouldn't surprise me about Antwi though, his physique is that of a top athlete. edit - I just read the posts on the previos page, didn't realise it had already been said.
