I'm sure we'll outplay them and when it happens, I'm certain ManUre will resort to their old Boltonesque tactics by trying to turn the match into a free-for-all, as they routinely do against Arsenal, a team that always outplay them but lose because they're out-muscled.

When ManUre struggle, they become dirty and we have to be strong enough to withstand their aggression, otherwise like the Goons and other teams, we will succumb.

Technically we're miles better but them have plenty of bullyboys who will try to intimidate us.

If we can handle that, we will stand victorious in the Theatre of Sh!te.

Point in our favour - I'm not going. My record at Old Trafford reads umpteen games, umpteen defeats and one draw :(

I remember reading a very similar thread on the run up to Septembers game. The majority of people thought it was going to be an easy win us putting on a show yet it was one of the most boring games ever. This match will go the same way and the scoreline will be the same imo

Our midfield is far supirior than theirs, I mean who would you rather have - Giggs,Fletcher,Smith & Park or

Kewell,Alonso,Sissoko & Gerrard it's a no brainer really.

As good as Rooney & Van Horse face are without the service they will be F..ked.

I still think it will be a tight game with us winning 1-0, I can't see them beating us, at worse a draw.

Come on you Mighty Anfield Reds!!!

I'm with owenthomas on this one: for the first time in a long time I expect us to go to Old Trafford and win, and that makes me nervous...

If we win the midfield battle and starve Rooney of the ball he will become increasingly frustrated, he will drop deep to get some action and as we have seen at club and country level, this is when he shows his worst side.

My money is on 0-2 Kewell and Stevie, Rooney sent off.

Random thoughts :

1. Its a chance for us to go 2 points in front of them and have two games in hand. Its going to be a hugely physical game

2. Prolly be red cards; hopefully Rooney and Smith.

3. If they play Evra we will rip them apart down that right wing.

Will Scholes still be out ? They look decent with him running the show but ordinary without him.

Lets hope the Brewers do some damage to them tonight; red cards or injuries, I'm not bothered which :D

Slur Alex will resort to his usual tactic when he comes up against a team he feels are better than his. He will send them out to try and kick us off the park.

I hope people aren't going to start with an Evra is s*** agenda. The majority of players have average debuts. And his was a derby game. oh, the mockers, the mockers.

it's has proved very efficient against us before.

this lot aren't good enough for that though.

I've just done 2 days (Mon & Wed) training in Bodelwyddan (North Wales) with 12 Council bods a day. My Wallpaper on the Laptop is the 2005/6 Squad photo with old Big Ears & as you may expect has caused much debate!

There have been Reds & Mancs (even an Everton, West Ham & Arsenal fan and some token egg chasers) and the Mancs are ALL 'bricking it' about Sunday & fearing a pasting.

I for one, fearing umpteen e mails & calls if we did lose, have used more discretion than normal, but think we 'should' win & can smell their fear (they all know their midfield is shoit).

If we play our normal game we will win. If we show them too much respect and start getting involved in silly incidents we will lose. I am having this nagging feeling we will make silly mistakes early on and dig a hole like we did there last season.

Wasn't saying he is poor. You honestly think he has it in him to put in a decent LB display against Finnan/Stevie/Momo after one week in the Prem, though ?

yes. and that lad vidic is very highly-rated also. plus alex ferguson is a tactical genius who treats every match like a game of chess but always against a different grandmaster.

I hate these games more than derby matches.

I agree Kev, the last one I went to at their place was the 4-0. I'm more confident that won't happen but having said that I thought we'd do Chelsea at our place too. Freak games.

If he plays he's capable of much better than last weekend, that's for sure. Yes, it's another tense game, but we called Silvestre fit to burn after his first few weeks, and then he was pretty solid for three seasons.

Too early to make out that Evra is the weak link.

I honestly think that if we play well we'll win..

But then throw a bit of luck the mancs way.. dodgy ref and well.. anything can happen.

fancy a draw? i have a feeling that either we win or we lose though

Whether we win, lose, or draw is down to the day itself - anything can happen. "Freak games" is right.

But it feels good knowing that for the first time in years we can confidently state that we are the better team - and the league position at the end of the season will show that.

Makes it even funnier that Stuart Pearce tactically outwitted him then! :D

Would anyone take a draw right now?

can never bring myself to think like that.....apart from these games. It hurts like hell when we lose to that lot. Paralleled only by how good it feels when we win.
