Swan Red Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 which is of what relevance? we paid 10+ for Diouf
fyds Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 We paid £5m for cheyrouAnd at that time, it looked like a bargain - anyway, different times, different manager, change in policy and ethos.
Spion kop Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 which is of what relevance? we paid 10+ for Diouf stop it you're making me cry!
Guest Red Mist Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 We are never going to sign him. If he ends up coming to Liverpool I'd dedicate an entire thread to why I love ManUre.
Montse Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Just wait til Rafa gets Crouchy to call his old team mate to tell him what a fab place LFC is!
R A Softlad Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 With the notable exception of southampton players... £3m down and the rest based on appearances for Chrouchy I believe.
Maldini Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Are you serious ? Kewell for £5m looked like a bargainBabbel on a free looked like a bargain Cheyrou had done feck all but score a goal against the Mancs and has done feck all since then...other than pick up a ridiculous wage every week.He scored 13 goals in 26 games from midfield the season before we signed him
fyds Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Is the right answer - when I told a couple of mates at the time, one a Manu supporter, the other a Gooner, the reply was the same 'F*** and you only paid what?' Revisionism is easy.
stressederic Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 He was supposed to be our Freddie Ljunberg, and I was pretty chuffed when I heard we were signing him. The folly of youth.
Earl Hafler Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 He scored 13 goals in 26 games from midfield the season before we signed him And yet he still didn't play very well.
anny road Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 walcott wasnt at Soton training session today things are moving, and probably in the direction of Highbury
Eskimo Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 All this will he won't he feck it who want's to call his agent, I have his mobile number...
fyds Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 And yet he still didn't play very well. No, but that's hindsight isn't it?
Kahnee Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 fool. Given your recent performances in the general, I'd be careful how you bandy that word around
Earl Hafler Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 No, but that's hindsight isn't it? I meant in France. Whenever i watched him he didn't impress me...might have just been one of those things.
fyds Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I meant in France. Whenever i watched him he didn't impress me...might have just been one of those things.I was back and forth to France a lot at that time - he certainly impressed me. Just didn't work for him here except in a handful of games.
realtarragona Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 If the lad can hold out and sign for his favourite club I don't see why he would. It's not just about holding out for his 'favourite club', it's about getting a decent fee for Southampton who presumably he is leaving on good terms with too. If we won't match Arsenal's then there I can't blame him too much for going there.
