owenthomas Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 we had quite a lot of injuries last season but i don't really remember Rafa harping on about it to any certain extent, if at all?.. looking through the papers this morning and yet again they're going on about Souness and the injuries that Newcastle have suffered.. while, yes, they are plentiful and it's slightly unlucky for them i think we must have had numbers of there or thereabouts in the treatment room similar to them.. i don't recall it being mentioned in regards to us to the same extent as theirs is brought up either.. anyway, i was wondering if anyone has a list of who was out and for how long last season for us.. just to put my mind at rest..
CarraLegend Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Souey is becoming embarassing. "So Graeme, we hear you're after Niclas Anelka" "Well as you know, we've got Emre, Parker, Owen, 2 lads from the reserves and Kieron injured" every interview without fail. A shame he's spunked 50 odd mill on a load of crocks really.
Romario Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 (edited) No way do Newcastle have injuries like we had.No idea of times and date but off the top of my head Dudek and Kirkland at the same time as well I believe meaning Carson had to step in against Juve. Finnan was out. Josimi split his head open. Hyypia missed a few games. Alonso broke his ankle. Hamann was out too. Garcia with a long hamstring. Kewell.(most of the season) Cisse with a broken leg. Gerrard missed games too. Baros with his hamstring after playing for the czechs. Pongo's knee injury. Morienties CL cup tied and injured. I'm sure I've missed a few but I think only Risse played nearly all our games without injury. P.S. Mellor's knee op!! Edited January 16, 2006 by Romario
Maldini Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I think only Riise and Carra went without medium to long term injuries last season
Gomez Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 we had quite a lot of injuries last season but i don't really remember Rafa harping on about it to any certain extent, if at all?.. looking through the papers this morning and yet again they're going on about Souness and the injuries that Newcastle have suffered.. while, yes, they are plentiful and it's slightly unlucky for them i think we must have had numbers of there or thereabouts in the treatment room similar to them.. i don't recall it being mentioned in regards to us to the same extent as theirs is brought up either.. anyway, i was wondering if anyone has a list of who was out and for how long last season for us.. just to put my mind at rest.. The difference is, if we'd have had all our players fit, it would certainly improved our league position. Specially the long abscences of Gerrard / Alonso / Kewell and Cisse. If Newcastle had all there players fit, Souness would still be a sh*t manager.

Was it a broken bone in his foot? Totally drawn a blank.
CarraLegend Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I remember Juve away last season, no Gerrard no Hamann and a Xabi Alonso who hadnt played a minute of football for about 3 months (Then put in one of the best midfield displays ive ever seen)

Benitez Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 No way do Newcastle have injuries like we had.No idea of times and date but off the top of my head Dudek and Kirkland at the same time as well I believe meaning Carson had to step in against Juve. Nunez out for months with a knee injury.Josemi was also out for ages with an ankle injury as well. Traore missed the first few weeks of the season with an injury as well. Basically now, Souness is so out of excuses, that he has nothing else to say. He's now being forced to face the media - after weeks of sending his assistant out for post match interviews. He knows he's spent the money he was given like a kid in a candy store, rather than with thought to team building. That £27 mill for Luque and Owen could have bought him 2 strikers, a midfielder, and a couple decent defenders. Souness is on the edge, he is looking haggered, gaunt, and close to breaking point.
Bootle Buck Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 RAFA = CLASS End of story. The rest of them Souness, Allardyce, McClaren, Bruce et al are the same ones who also can't give credit to an oppposing team when due or actually admit they were beaten fairly. I wish to God they would do away with the after match Managerial interviews as it generally becomes whiny, excuse making and defensive. Rafa on the other hand just gives the same type of answer. It was a good win and one game at a time.

Did you hear him talking at the weekend about the Bowyer / Murphy swap ?" I know the two clubs are talking but i have no idea what about or at what stage the talks are " was basically what he said. Jimmy Saville joins " Celebrity Big Brother "Graeme Souness joins " Lost "
