Guest Les Howard Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 ..like a Pay as you play? I know people say you shouldn't go back but as a 4th striker on a sensible contract - I think it'd be good business. Thoughts?

Thoughts? ..like a Pay as you play? I know people say you shouldn't go back but as a 4th striker on a sensible contract - I think it'd be good business. Thoughts? Would have Robbie back anytime. A different sort of striker to what we've got, someone who can come up with that goal out of nothing, when your looking for a break.
anny road Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 heart says yes my brain and what I know about his general state of fitness and attitude tells me a definate noooo
Benitez Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 nope, wouldn't want him back. Rather have someone like FloPo as a 4th striker. A young committed, willing and intelligent player. And if someone like FloPo isn't going to stick around long term, rather we then go and get another hungry and willing young striker, that Rafa and his coaches can teach.
pipnasty Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 The simple answer is no. Apart from the last two games with City, when was the last time that he ever came up with a goal out of nothing consistently? If he cannot do it at City, what makes anybody think that he can do it at a much higher level? He is not good enough and hasn't been for about 5 years now. He has recently been linked to Millwall and that sounds about right for me. Now don't get me wrong, he was the most natural finisher I have ever seen and maybe once or twice a season, still is. But that isn't good enough for us anymore. We are the Champions of Europe FFS. People are letting their hearts rule their heads on this one and if that is the case, we may as well ask Rushie and Dalglish to come back too. It's great to see him scoring again, especially against them b*stards but htis is an absolute non starter for me.
Knoxy Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 No Hope he stays where he is and continues to score in manc derbies and point out how many European Cups we've won
Red_Polo Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 (edited) My heart is screaming yes Can't hear my head for s*** Reel him in Rafa * *It'll probably never happen Edited January 15, 2006 by Red_Polo
Guest Masked Benitez Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Heart Says YES YES YES! But in reality i don't think he's good enough to play for us!
jfogarty Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Id rather see Mellor stay than Robbie come back
slapnuts Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 If he gets a chance in the box he will put it away. Get the little fat lad in
Knox_Harrington Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 If he gets a chance in the box he will put it away.Which is why he remains interesting. But he is almost certainly too injury prone and short of fitness now.
fred milne Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 My heart and head are in agreement - both are saying no.
Romario Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 No way. It would upset what Raffa;s doing. We'd have fans screaming for him to come on after Crouch misses his first chance. Plus we'd have "God should have started today"threads on here every bloody game.
Guest Joaquin Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Paco can get him back in tip-top fitness in no time. And considering that we have Cisse, Nando n Crouch, Flo Po, he will find it tough to even find a place on the bench. So no harm to the finances, if its a Pay as You Play. And his presence in the dressing room will liven up the place even more.
Benitez Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 And his presence in the dressing room will liven up the place even more. lol, thats really clutching at straws looking for reasons! Seems the place doesn't need livening. The spirit here seems very good, doesn't need unsettling. And Fowler's sulking would be more likely to piss everyone off anyway
Flight Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 (edited) Yes I would. But with Robbie there is absolutely no chance of me looking at it sensibly or logically. Edited January 15, 2006 by Flight
Gomez Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Yes.A free transfer and a low risk salary I don't think it would hurt. I imagine he'd be desperate to do well, and I doubt he would whinge about not starting every, or even most games. An impact sub like how citeh used him yesterday.
