AnfieldCop Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 A lad on RAWK called, Spanish Red, posted the following: This is the same guy who told us that Luis were flying over for a medical. He seems to be a close friend of Luis. It was a surprise for me not seeing him playing against Luton, but also on the bench So i called to ask him about. He told me that he had been playing with pain on his knee the last 2 or 3 months. But he wanted to help the team to catch ManU on Premier and get the World Club Cup on Japan. He could play with that pain, thx to doctors and his massages and medicines injected. (dont know if it´s the correct expression). But on the match against Bolton he couldn´t continue with his pain."Im seat just now and i can feel the damage on my knee. It´s impossible for me to play" said to me."Probably i have to pass a surgical operation, and that means 4-5 weeks out. But i think is the best way to be fit for the matches against Benfica. Some teammates advices to me that i have to go to operation, some others are advicing me, not to. I don´t know at this moment what is the best way. Next Monday I will go to Barcelona to get a second opinion about this injury, and then i will decide what to do" Today, Sunday 15th, i couldn´t talk with him so i called his wife. And she told me that Luis couldnt wait till monday with this pain on his knee, so he travelled to Barcelona last Friday. Just at this moment they are making medical tests on his knee to know how important is the injury. Yesterday (saturday) they make him some tests and it seems that it isn´t necessary to go to the operating room; but they will make more tests today. I will try to inform u, with more news when i got them. (And obviously i hope the news will be good news)
Benitez Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 if he needs an operation, I really can't see what point there is waiting. But hopefully he won't need one, and will be ok soon! In that game v's West Brom (I think), he got another knock and was struggling, so maybe not such a surprise to hear he's been struggling with an injury for a while. Best off getting it sorted now, as then he can be fully fit for the last stretch of the season. He's an important player for us, no point risking him. But a shame that he'd miss games like v's Man U, Arsenal and the Rent Boys.
Guest Masked Benitez Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Hope to see him back soon he was really playing well. Keep up informed Spanish Red.!
Romario Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 s****! If true it's more serious than we all thought. We'll really miss his important goals over the next month or so.Lets hope for a quick uncomplicated recovery. So that's Zenden and now Luis out with no option on playing Gonzalaz. Perhaps a wide player will be made a serious priority now. BTW does Zendens injury mean he'll miss the world cup? Gutted for him if so. if he needs an operation, I really can't see what point there is waiting. But hopefully he won't need one, and will be ok soon! The pain is there for a reason. Sounds like he's in massive pain. Could be out for a while.
Hassony Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 BTW does Zendens injury mean he'll miss the world cup? Gutted for him if so. i don't think he would have gone even if he was fit
Romario Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 i don't think he would have gone even if he was fitCheers. I thought he was still in the Dutch squad.
surfaris Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 is spanish_red at RAWK = spanish fan here? patrick from catalan?

Not necessarily. A nicked cartlidge needs a small op just to tidy it up. Depends whether it's a keyhole job or opening it up. The priority is being back for Benfica
Earl Hafler Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 is spanish_red at RAWK = spanish fan here? I doubt it. Spanish Fan appears to be more fluent with his English. This helps explain a couple of poor recent performances from Luis. Hope he returns to full fitness soon.
Flight Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 is spanish_red at RAWK = spanish fan here? patrick from catalan? Pretty sure it isn't. Spanish Red is a close friend of Luis and has posted photo's of them together with family and at Anfield etc. His info has always been spot on and he has done things like take series of questios from RAWK posters and interviewed LUIS with them. Top bloke and 100% reliable.
Rushian Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Different people - spanish-fan posts here and on rawk and often translates articles/interviews from the spanish press. Spanish Red is Garcia's mate.
Guest YKI Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 (edited) I'm sure Spanish Red said that he was at Luis' house with Nando and a few others, before the EC and Nando had mentioned about not touching the EC. I watched the game and two of their players touched it, I immediately thought of him, Luis and Nando. Later interviews with Carra said Morientes had gone on about not touching the EC. Mike Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 anfield cop missed this update out:'Finally i could speak with Luis, just a few minutes ago. He told me that all tests were made today and yesterday. He is only waiting for the final doctor´s conclussion watching the tests.Anyway it seems that it won´t be necessary go to an operating room. The doctor also saw a problem on his back as cause of beeing forcing to play. Since 2 or 3 months ago, when he started to feel the injury, he was taking massages and medicines, but he was training and playing too, so the problem was ever there and going worse. Now he will need about 2 weeks period of totally rest. Only massages and medicines for his problems on back and knee. No training (and of course no playing...).After that he will need, probably 2 more weeks of training with the team to be totally fit. As i said, he is waiting for the final conclussions of the doctors, to know exactly where are the problems and the way to cure them. The periods of recuperation aren´t totally right till know the doctor´s conclussion.'
