Puma Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 But isn't that exactly what's so f***ing annoying with this ? I'd love Djibril to shine but let's face it, he isn't and one goal against Everton doesn't change much I'm afraid. Defenetly its not helping him not being in the XI - that's plain to see.
Guest JimmyJames Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Not good enough imo. Lacks both intelligence and a good touch. Actually, he's got no touch at all. I kinda like the bloke but he just won't cut it as a Liverpoolplayer.
slapnuts Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 see his hair today? Feckin Mr T He's got Tattoos on his heed too.
Puma Posted January 15, 2006 Author Posted January 15, 2006 Don't care about his hair doos. Only thing that matters is the way he's playing and what the contribution to the team is. Extremely flamboyant to say the least. Can we keep a player on the bench that cost us 14 million pounds ? As I say - I'll cheer the laudest when he finds his form, it just has to start to happend.
chrisbonnie Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 i have to admit, i think we`re being far too over-critical of the lad every game theres a thread on how he played, was there anything on how crap Crouch and Nando where today, utter rubbish the 2 of them, dawson had the 2 of them in his back pocket, im not saying Djib came on and set the world alight, but he did "get involved" his first touch today he lost the ball, then ran like a greyhound to get it back, he didnt do that 3 months ago, i think he`s finally playing for the team it`ll sicken me if he goes, because i guantee he`ll be banging them somewhere else, and we`ll all be raving about him again, if i was to get rid of any of our forwards, it`d be Morientes every time

I've been fighting myself on this. I can't however understand why things aren't clicking for Djibs. About being over critical, yes perhaps some times you see that. I think the problem is everyone is waiting for those 14 million pound performances.
Guest Kev Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 and now watch him get the winner next Sunday
Puma Posted January 15, 2006 Author Posted January 15, 2006 I'd love it It would be a great place to start with at least.
Guest Kev Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 I'd love it It would be a great place to start with at least. Rio and probably that Vidic fellow will start in the centre of defence, both tall and fast. Crouch will start, he might be the lone striker or have Djib as his partner as I think Djib will give us more against the Mancs than Nando.
Runehammer Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Most of what has been mentioned in this thread is spot on but the guy is never going to do anything to justify the price tag unless he gets a string of matches and I just can't see that happening.
Eiler99 Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 What the f*** is going on with that hairdo? Get rid, it's worse than Harry Kewell's.
Guest Kev Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 What the f*** is going on with that hairdo? Get rid, it's worse than Harry Kewell's.Nothing is worse than Kewell's. He looks like a cast off from the Water Margin.
Guest RedLegend Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 I think he'll be sold in the Summer. Basically Cisse can only operate when the entire team is focused towards providing him with chances (a la Auxerre). Rafa's teams do not work like that. It's all about the team as a unit and Cisse is too much of a lone ranger to fit into that system. I can't see him striking up a relationship with anybody up front.

Ombudsam Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 his problem,is he's a lazy lazy b*****d. he's changed
Ombudsam Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Until February the 1st. bit harsh. I just think he realises what he needs to do to survive now. Play for the team and work hard. I don't think he was trying to get a move early season when only him and stevie were scoring
CarraLegend Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 bit harsh. True, I just wont buy into the he's changed stuff until the transfer window shuts and then he's still doing it. Hope he does keep it up because he's looked good.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Like I said from day one. He was never as good as his hype. People were comparing him to all kinds of wonderful finished strikers. For me when on song he's Heskey with confidence with more pace. Doesn't have the inteligence or skill to be a great forward and doesn't have the cool head to be a great finisher. I would have swapped him for Yakubu when we signed him and I still would. It's a shame but there ya go. Load of b*llocks. Heskey is a huge brickhouse with a decent amount of pace. he's a forward, who holds up the ball and muscles defenders aside at will when on song. Cisse is nothing like that. He definitely has the cool head to be a great finisher. For whatever reason, he is not quite in touch with it these days.
yellow jumper Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 his finishing hasn't been any better or worse than i expected. he was never a fowler from what i saw of him in france. it's the rest of his game that's disapointed. the everton goal, his whole performance in fact, offered a glimmer of hope. not only did he beat his defender by not just trying to knock it and run, he finished with a cool side-foot rather than just t***ting it as hard as he could. beyond that he also looked better linking, and worked harder generally

No Fowler, but not too far from someone like hasselbaink (who could t*** the ball as well as anyone). Think he has shown promise recently, and a bit of skill as well, which I can't understand where has gone prior to now. he's no henry, but he can pull of a trick or two when he wants to.

mrjunk Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 lets sign fowler as a player/coach and get him to teach ALL our strikers where the onion bag is!!! (and teach them that neat little flick from the brann bergan game)
Bootle Buck Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 His image and enigma has exceeded his perfromances up to now. At times he can look brilliant and others seems to lack the basic skills needed. I think he would be better suited on a team that players around his game, where he is the star player. He wont get that at Liverpool and therefore we don't suit him or he us. It's a shame because just like Baros he seems to have no problem scoring at International level.
