Afterall he's only played about 30 minutes since he came back from the injury.

I think thats the key. This is a very important game for us and having an 80/90% Agger on the bench could be a mistake.

The only suprise is why people think he would be in the squad. Rafa has already indicated that he needs a lot of work on his fitness. There will be plenty of time for him to play for us once he has gained what Rafa believes is the right level of fitness to compete for a place on the bench.

out of interest what are the Danish saying about Kroldrup and his 1 appearence all season for Everton?

Most of the papers said he had a nightmare and couldn't deal with the high tempo. Hard to argue with.

I think a lot of people, including myself, were a bit surprised. He's looked an excellent player in Seria A with Udinese and has also been solid everytime he's played for the national team. He's been out for a while and will need some time to find his feet in a new league but I was still shocked at how much he struggled against Villa. I still back him to come good though and despite the debut I think most people here still believe he'll be a good player for Denmark for many years to come.

Quite funny reading the conspiracy theories on the Everton boards. From buying the wrong player to someone taking a bung and Everton not being able to afford the next payment. Can't believe they rejected him after just 1 game - the tempo isn't much different in Serie A and the Premiership. All a bit fishy.

He's out injured now right? I guess they'll be forced to play him when Yobo goes to the African Nations Cup... :D

I don't get the whole tempo issue either, but after his first reserve game for Everton he complained about it in the Danish papers. He seem genuinely shocked. He said it would take some time to get used to the furious tempo. He said the big difference from Italy is that in Italy the strikers never put pressure on the centre backs whereas in England they constantly chase the ball. In Italy he had time on the ball and could think before passing. There's not time to do that in England so you're often forced to make hasty decisions - something he isn't used to. The injury and lack of first team action probably hasn't helped him settle in either.

Hopefully Agger will cope better. Krøldrup's already got the fans on his back after ONE game. I'd be gutted if the same happened to Agger. That's why I'm happy Rafa seems willing to wait for him to be 100% fit before throwing him on - even though I can hardly wait to see him playing for us.
