Windows installer

Having a bit of a problem. I get a little alert in the icon tray at bottom of screen telling me I have Java updates ready to install. I click install and they download away in the tray. Once its finished I click on them to install.

 

A windows installer box opens and says "ready to install". And, er, that's it. No matter how long you leave it, nowt seems to happend. Just stays like that. I click cancel when i get fed up waiting and the box says "cancelling" and still it just stays like that. It's still on screen now! (guess i'll have to restart).

 

This happend before and I eventually just clicked the button that said you didn't want the updates, but it came back today.

 

Anyone any ideas?

 

P.S just as i finished writing this, a message saying "update server not responding" has popped up.
