Bailo Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 You may remember I posted pre-Xmas a plea for help in choosing my other half some female singer/songwriter albums....well, I settled on Gemma Hayes and Heather Nova, as I've heard both before. Both albums (NOMS and Redbird) went down very well I'm pleased to report and I've found myself listening to Gemma Hayes particularly, it's a wonderful album. But I'm confused - really, when it's all boiled down, there isn't much difference between this, Katie Melua, Norah Jones et al. Yet those two are slaughtered on here, yet Gemma Hayes is praised - why? Did she come first, is she "better", less commercial?
