Some of the 'fans' on here are way too fickle

First it was Carnage! Carnage! Carnage! Then it was he's s***, got no skill blah blah blah. The it was he's great again (Everton). Now its turned into he's s*** again and will never make it.

First Pongo was Le Gem, then he was s*** and should be sold because he w'll never make it, now he's great again and should be kept as a supersub.

Hyypia's had the same treatment. First he was great, then he was too slow. Then he has past it (how many games has he played over the last few years without being rested?) Then during the winning streak, he was great again and one half of the best CB pairing in the Premiership. Now he's s*** too old, too slow and should immediately be replaced by some Danish kid who's never played in the English league.

Then Crouch started getting some stick. Beanpole who would never score and RB had wasted £7m on him and should've spent £16m on Owen. Then there was a deafening silence from the same critics when he started scoring. Those goals were a flash in the pan because he played s*** against Luton.

Sissoko now seems to be getting the treatment. Zzzzzzz.

Every time a player seems to have 1 or 2 bad games, they seem to be labelled as shyte and should be sold. Everything seems to be black and white to some people on here. What do people want? Instant Ronaldinhoesque skills with 9/10 ratings every f***ing game from every single player in the team? There's way too much unjustified moaning and criticism of players from certain "fans" these days. You only have to be in the main stand to hear people w***ing on about how s*** one player is and how he needs to be replaced.

Get real you moany miserable short termist f*****s.

I've never been convinced by Cisse. I preferred Baros to him and still do. If we get a good offer for Cisse in Jan, and also have a decent replacement lined up (and knowing Rafa, any replacement would be pretty good), I would wave goodbye to the Lord of Frostshire or wherever he's King.

People having a pop at Sami must be crazy. There is no other explanation.

And FSP was hailed almost as a Pele in the making, along with his mate ALT, when he first arrived. It's always a problem when 'highly-rated' youngsters first arrive, despite seeing next-to-nothing of them in action, a lot of us expect them all to be as great as Fowler and Gerrard were at that age.

As it is, FSP is a talented player who should stay since he does tend to make an impression when he comes on from the bench. He has time on his side too.

I think we are too fickle sometimes always changing our minds when performances go up and down, no wait a minute, no I dont we never change our minds.

Well we've got to talk about something :P

I understand though, it can get a little out of hand but we all put so much pressure on the team and the players to play well.

We want world class players to play with world class form week in week out which is unrealistic, but it doesnt stop people from complaining when they dont.

Does seem par for the course on here now. Some people seem to know what they're talking about, some don't. Same as forums everywhere and on every subject I suppose.

Pity the preview feature hasn't come over with the board upgrade - made it a bit easier to not bother with some of the threads...

the only thing worth noting is that 'Carnage' was the worst, most cringeworthy nickname of all time

You said it....

Come on Banjo, name names...

The ones you think are flip flopping, name em and shame em...

It's a bout time we had some proper rows. Some proper blood letting. It's all been too cost since we've got good again.

I'm still waiting for him to tell us how many times he has seen Kuyt play a full game as he thinks Kuyt is not worth buying. Must have seen him frequently.

the use of the words "on here" are what puzzle me - as if fans that come on this site are different to fans of any club on any forum, in any pub, at any ground.. strange one..

for the record i don't think i can be accused of what's being said here BUT if i take exception to a player in a particular game (ie i think he plays s***) then i will say so.. if he plays well, again i will say so.. not only cos it's my opinion buut also to partake in a forum cos that's errr, what forums do..

That's the thing. I don't think there are many to name.

But different posters air different views depending on the circumstances.

is correct - by all account Pongo was s*** against Bolton.. so people said he played s***..

contrast to the Luton game when Pongo's impact was there for all to see and was a catalyst in the comeback.. so people will say that he played well.. can't see the problem..

So what if a player plays a number of games where he has little impact on the team, and is generally poor. But then, he plays some games where he plays well and does have an impact? Or what if a player who's been generally good for a while, suddenly has a dip in form, and is struggling and it's affecting the team's performances?

Please oh great ones, advice all us minions what we are allowed to do in these circumstances, and how we may comment without upsetting people. What are the forum rules regards such awkward situations?

For two out of the last three matches I've watched in the pub (two different pubs albeit) I've had my ears bent by "Kewell is sh*te" fans. The first one I started talking to and asked him to point out to me what Kewell was doing wrong (Everton game), and he promptly went quiet.

Cue fifteen minutes of silence from him until "yeah, but when he went off in the CL final, I mean, what a useless kn*bhead eh?"

So I engaged him in debate again during which time it became even more obvious that he was re-spouting stuff he'd heard other people say or he'd read it on k*pta*lk (sorry for mentioning it but I'm sure its the source of all cr*ppy opinions out there).

Then on Saturday I was treated to the pub loudmouth who was cheering Liverpool on but curious shouting out at the top of his voice "Kewell, you're crap" every ten minutes. He was curiously silent whenever Kewell did something good. At the end when Kewell played Cisse in through the middle but Cisse failed to latch onto it, chummy again blamed Kewell rather loudly.

And my point is... where do these people get their opinions from? It certainly isn't from watching the game.

I don't think that's the point Banjo is making though. Fair enough, week to week players will have good and bad games, which will be pointed out. It's the extrapolating that gets frustrating, i.e. "Cisse will score us 25 this season and we'll win the league with him up front" one week to "Cisse isn't a Rafa player and will be out come January". Also with Pongolle, he's suddenly flavour of the month, some saying he's the player Cisse should be after being roundly slated on here last week.

Its the wild veering of opinions week to week that is annoying.

I doubt is is the same posters veering so wildly though. But when Cisse plays well, it's a natural opportunity for some perhaps to post their positive views on Cisse. and vice versa for those who don't rate him.

i was basically saying that if a players plays a particular way it'll be pointed out - i didn't make reference to the point Banjo was making (as such) with the post you've quoted as i doubt it's the same people who go so wildly from one opinion to the next?

i will say that unless Banjo can pull up posts from particular people and say "you said this on Monday and by Tuesday you were saying this" he/she can't really comment on something like this in such a way as they have though..

i don't doubt there are fluctuating and occasional over zealous appraisals of certain players mind - i just doubt whether it's the same people..

Which is fair enough, everyone is entitled to an opinion (a******s etc..). I have seen some same people say one thing one week and the opposite the next, though no way could I name names, as I have a memory like a sieve!

What I meant was that calling a player s*** when they are s*** is fair enough venting, but it's the tags, the proclamations that we attach to players one week and the next that frustrates some. I don't think many do it though.

The Pongolle is better than Cisse thread pissed me off. I now anny rd was being deliberately contrary but still....

if someone says "Cisse's the best striker ever" one day and then the next day says "he's poo" then of course - i agree that's ridiculous..

actually i think we're agreeing on this by the way but i'm not sure now.. :D

What upset you about that thread ?

The statement in the title or the people posting on it ?

If I posted a thread in a minute saying Gerrard is better than Biscan would you get pissed off about that ?
