first half, I reckon it is only worth pointing out our defence was abysmal, so were crouch, momo and kewell. xabi and cisse barely escaping with the skin off their nose. Gerrard ok-ish.

Bit harsh. Cisse did create some half chances and had some good runs down the wing. Crouch hardly put a foot right for the entire time he stayed on the pitch.

twas only for the 2nd half. 45 minutes where we stuck four past them. I thought harry had an excellent second half. great in the link-up.

Carson - 6 Great save at 1-1 and was unlucky to get the penalty against.

Finnan - 7 Got forward well and put in some good crosses, defensively got caught a number of times but cover usually dealt with the problem

Riise - 5 Poor, but not helped with having no support from LM

Sami - 4 Luton targeted his lack of pace and pressured him into a number of errors

Carragher - 5 Covered well occasionally for Finnan but looked unusually uncomfortable.

Alonso - 9 At times it was only him and Gerrard doing anything. The fella oozes class and he was 'Magnificent' . The Goals were stunning.

Gerrard - 8 Fantastic Goal but struggled to get himself going after it (wasn't through a lack of trying, things just didn't seem to want to run for him) sorted himself out 2nd half.

Kewell - 3 Never helped Risse out once, bottled out of 60/40's, Pass for Gerrard was a joke. Gave the knockers a reason to call him again, let himself down big time after some great performaces. Hope its 1 bad game in 10 now rather than 1 good game in 10.

Sissoko - 4 Unusually found wanting in a game i thought he'd enjoy

Cisse - 4 Offered nothing and it was a bad pen.

Crouch - 4 Struggled and posed no threat to Luton's defense and did nothing defensively.

 

Sinama - 8 Changed the game in our favor when he came on. Lacks match fitness as he looked knackered for the last 5 minutes and he'd only been on a short while.

I said HK was poor, but he wasn't the poorest.

He was not an "8", but certainly not a "3" IMO.
