Ombudsam Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 For once and i mean for once I have some sympathy with him. I can't find it online but i think it was in The Times.
Armin_Tamzarian Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I also sympathise for once. What a nothing story about a nothing remark. Is no-one ever allowed to say anything whatsoever without incurring the wrath of some interest group and being forced to don sackcloth and ashes. I hope that anti malaria group get malaria.
Ombudsam Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 What was it?1141690 He said that the only thing that was going to stop chelsea was malaria sweeping through their camp in an off the cuff remark
CarraLegend Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Some people, what should he apologise for? Its like them sad f*****s who hear the word "a***" on TV before the 9pm thing and all write to the BBC and complain. f***ing pathetic.
Tones Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Has he apologised. I know the Malaria Foundation said he should, but didnt think he had. Would loose respect for him if he apologised for that, although i dont actually have any respect for him anyway.
John am Rhein Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 He said that the only thing that was going to stop chelsea was malaria sweeping through their camp in an off the cuff remark1141706 What about nuclear-mutated bird flu?
Stevie H Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 What about nuclear-mutated bird flu?1141754 you heartless b*****d.
Murillo Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 the malaria foundation are only using this to get some attention, I think. And they need it, so I dont see the problem. The story will be more drawn-out if he doesnt apologise, so he shouldnt.
Guest Red Mist Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Well it was tactless and tasteless in my opinion. What if during ManUre's heyday in the 90's somebody said the only way to stop ManUre was if all their players were to die in a plane crash? There would be outrage, and rightly so. Malaria is a deadly disease, a terrible affliction to anyone unfortunate enough to be struck down by it and the stupid, senile drunk jock should have thought twice before 'jokingly' wishing it on anyone.
psl Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 The AIDS comment is a good one. The reaction would have been different if he'd commented on Chelsea getting that or cancer.

Cobs Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 what if he'd said pneumonia?1141803The Chelsea Pensioners are famous followers of Mourinho's team, pensioners die every year from pneumonia so Ferguson would have to apologise for his lack of sensitivity, the cn*t.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 well, he could have put it better: “You never know, malaria might hit the camp! We’ve got to hope something like that happens.”
Nerik Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I think the reaction happened because he referred to Malaria when it is a disease that kills many in Africa and Chelsea have the likes of Essien, Drogba and Geremi going to Africa for the nations cup. A stupid comment to make if you ask me.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 only if you're a complete doofushead. He should carry around a box of emoticons with him1141854 more thinking of the 'we've got to hope something like that happens' line. Kinda funny but still - he does sound like he wishes actual misfortune on the chelsea squad rather than just wanting them to play poorly.
smicer07 Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I hope they do get Malaria, how ironic would that be?
McBain Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I hope they do get Malaria, how ironic would that be?1142376 Apologise for that!
Guest Red in Holland Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I hope they do get Malaria, how ironic would that be?1142376 If they get the Black Death.. I will be the first to hold my hand up RiH
