Short summary of highlights: Rafa followed him before the Japan trip, he plied well in Japan, he's been impressive during the trial and is a plier who is very clever with the ball.

I wouldn't like these on my Bolanos, Rafa seems like a bit of a nutter if its's true. Edited January 5, 2006 by YKI

Benitez Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 do we have a reserve game next week? Maybe they are waiting on that so he can get a game in!

Maldini Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 There's an interview on the official site where he says that, said we were aware of him before Japan and that he was playing well then and has continued to play well since. Said an interesting bit at the end "He always knows what to do with the ball"

If Rafa is impressed with his intelligence with the ball, then he is in. RiH

He will have Crouch, Morientes, Garcia, Gerrard and Kewell to play off, if he is a thinking lad with the ball, Rafa will snap him up. Good as Gerrard is on right wing, he is even more dangerous free to plunder centre mid. I honestly see this happening. Rafa will do it, but he doesn't LIKE playing Stevie G out of position. RiH
Rahul Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I can't remember noticing him. Was he very good against us then? Posts merged:Nevermind. RiH answered it whilst I was posting.

Ian Mc Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) Will there be any work permit issues if/when we decide to offer him a full-time contract? ------------------- Just checked world rankings Costa Rica ranked 21. Should be ok then hopefully as long as we prove he's an outstanding talent Edited January 6, 2006 by Ian Mc

Reggie Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Cristian Bolaños carries out today the physical tests in the Center of Entrenamiento Melwood Park. They were routine tests, but the lived player felt very comfortable and I please with his work today's day. The flying youth of the Sport Saprissa this carrying out a very good work in England, for what trainer Rafael Benítez has been shown very interested in the player. ?The received treatment has been very special with Cristian and she/he feels a great appreciation for him? I inform Jeaustin Campos from Liverpool Inglaterra via phone. From Saprissa website
Hightown Phil Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Work Permit won't be a problem. Costa Rica are in the top 30 I think.
The Hitman Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 This may well be the best thing to come out of the WCC!
Magic8Ball Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Just got a feeling that it's either Bolanos or Pennant, with the former in the driving seat.1142372[/snapback]I think if Bolanos impresses we'll wait till the summer before getting the all important 2nd RW Come the Summer, we'll see if Pennant can keep himself dry and maintain his good performances. If Birmingham go down he could cost less too
