This was squirrelled away in a Grauniad article...

'Fernando Morientes, meanwhile, will miss Liverpool's games against West Bromwich and Bolton after straining knee ligaments in the 3-1 win over Everton.'

Hopefully it is only a couple of games, I guess that we should be grateful there arent more injuries especially all the games we have played this last couple of months - get fit soon Nando you have been superb the last few games!

bit of a blow that - he's starting to make a helluva contibution to the way the team plays.. Cisse (if he stays beyond these games) could put himself bang into Rafa's plans if he continues to play as he did against the bitters..

MORIENTES OUT OF NEXT TWO GAMES

Mark Platt 30 December 2005

Fernando Morientes has been ruled out of Liverpool's next two games after sustaining a knee injury in the midweek derby win over Everton.

Manager Rafael Benitez today revealed that he must make do without the services of his Spanish striker for Saturday's home match with West Bromwich Albion and Monday's visit to Bolton.

He hopes to have him back fit early next week and reported no other injury problems at a Melwood press conference on Friday morning.
