Cisse To Marseille '90%' Done

According to several French websites it's reported in one of their papers. It's got a mention in the Mirror today too. Here's a translation of one of the site's articles including direct quotes from Cisse's brother...

Marseilles the hebdo announces on his An on wednesday December 28: "Hamed Cissé: My brother to the om? This is done to 90%". The brother -and former agent- of Djibril Cissé is itself in fact entrusted to the marseillais newspaper. Extracts.

Hamed Cissé (brother of the player) : "Since the beginning of the month, Djibril hesitated a lot on his future. A blow it announced his craving to be transferred to the om, another it denied. But there, I believe that it definitively split. Go, I can say it for you, this practically is done! I evaluate its luck to come to 90%!" "Djibril has well understand that his profile of player, that always goes of the before, does not interest his current coach to Liverpool. Benitez prefers the attacks in pivot as Crouch. This is as that... Djibril has not for as much envies to lose a season while it is squarely form. Me I think that it must budge. I push it to come to Marseilles!" "Even for them (Liverpool), it is more better than it plays! They paid it 23 million Euros, his value bargains over risks lowering considerably while remaining on the bench." "Has Marseilles, Djibril all will explode"

His exclusive agent of picture, Franck Hocquemiller, joins December 22 by Marseilles the hebdo, adds: "Djibril keeps the morale. I brought to him the An equipe and of France Soccer talking about his transfer to Marseilles, it smiled... You know Djibril goes out of a long injury, and in those cases, a guy of his gabarit needs to play. I believe that Marseilles did this that it was necessary. To this near that Djibril would like to have guaranteed it that the om have the means of règler his final transfer at the end of his ready one (one evokes a ready one of 6 months). But yes, that could be done soon."

Looks a distinct possibility he will be heading to Marseille, it looks more like a question of when than if.

I'll believe it when I see it. For now, rafa has said he is not going in january and he is playing well right now.

I hope he stays but I think he'll probably go. and I reckon it may be Djibril more than Rafa that is driving the move

Rafa isnt helping by benching our 2nd top scorer for most games.

And is helping even less by winning all those games without him..

I know...when I look at the run of victories, I really do wish he had changed those teams, who knows...we might have done better than we have

Just making the point that maybe Djibs deserves a few more starts than he's getting... it's true though - you can't argue with the results

Rafa has apparently said this morning that it's the first he's heard of it and no-one has approached them. He's also apparently said that he's happy with the strikers for now and isn't really looking to strengthen there.

That could change though, as we all know.

'most games'?

It's means he's started more on the bench than on the field.

By my count he's made 16 starts, and 18 on the bench (or not in the squad)

up until his Man City strop, he was pretty much starting as many games as Crouch.

Which would suggest that in that squad rotation way, both where getting plenty of games.

It's only the last month he's been warming his a*** on the bench with any real regularity.

It's not like he's been trated like a dog, and left to rot.

Rafael Benitez has quashed the latest press speculation linking Djibril Cisse with a January move away from Anfield by insisting the French striker is very much part of his plans.

Benitez laughed off morning reports that Cisse is on his way to Marseille and went on to explain that he's very happy with the form of the striker who netted Liverpool's final goal in the derby win over Everton on Wednesday.

"They (Marseille) are always talking but they don't talk with us," said the Reds boss. "There is no news and we don't want to sell Djib.

"He is a very important player for us who has shown the kind of attitude I like in players. He's a good finisher and against Everton I knew his pace would give us options."

Benitez then refused to be drawn on further rumours about incoming transfers but on the subject of signing a new centre-back he added: "We have four or five options with regard to bringing a new centre back in. Signing players in the January transfer window is more difficult than the one in August but we are trying our hardest."

Read the original article , sounds to me like a brother mouthing off, plus its all if , maybe's etc.

Reckon Marseille put the brother up to say this as it was originally put in a local marseille weekly sports paper.

Marseille want him but they don't have the money and unless we have a ready replacement we won't sell, so IMHO this won't happen, but after the world cup if he has a good one, then who knows.

Thought I'd be a "proper" translation for you.

Marseille Daily announces on it's front page on Wednesday 28th December: "Hamed Cisse: My brother to Marseille? It's 90% certain". The brother- and ex-agent- of Djibril Cisse has effectively confided in the Marseille paper. Extracts...

Hamed Cisse (brother of the player): "Since the start of March, Djibril has been thinking alot about his future. At one point he announced his desire to go to Marseille, next he decides against it. But now, I think he's decided for sure. Therefore, I can tell you, it's almost sorted! I would say his chances of coming to Marseille are 90%!". " Djibril has understood that his profile as a footballer, which always comes first, does not interest his current coach at Liverpool. Benitez prefers hold-up strikers like Crouch. That's why... Djibril doesn't want to lose another season when he's on top form. I think he must move. I am pushing him to join Marseille!"

"Even for them (Liverpool), it's better that he plays! They paid 23 million euros for him, and his transfer value risks getting much lower by staying on the bench" "At Marseille, Djibril will be lethal"

His exclusive image agent, Franck Hocquemiller, speaking to Marseille Daily on the 22nd December, adds: "Djibril has his morals. I've taken him the front pages of L'Equipe and France Football which talk of his transfer to Marseille... he smiled... You know Djibril has just had a long injury, and in such cases, a person like him needs to player. I think that Marseille have done what is required. At this point, Djibril would like the guarantee that Marseille have the means to buy him outright at the end of his loan spell (we're talking about a 6 month loan). But yes, this could be sorted soon.

What the f*** is the problem with fast french strikers / sulkers and their brothers ? :D

I'd keep Djibs around for now and see where we're at with him next summer. At 14 million pounds you expect a near perfect deal, not 500.000 posts on a message board debating if it's a sweet deal or not.

i swing from pillar to post on this player

he frustrates the hell out of me......And I have to say I was ready for him being binned come jan...However, the other night (and I know it is one game, but it was a bloody important one) made me stop and think

That is the Cisse I want to see.......strong running, clever running, keeping the ball, using his team mates, and a f***ing stunning finish, not just t***ting it as hard as he can...

If he can produce that type of perfomance in more games then we have some player......
