Gerrard's tackle on Nenille last night

In the first few minutes Stevie made a great effort to let Neville know he was there. He also seemed to give him an extra little prod as he got up too. The Gormless looking fecker didn't know what hit him.

Well in Stevie Lad. ;)

Its a standard ploy of his - early strong tackle on the opposition's "hard man".

Other examples are Carsley in the 2-1 last season, Vieira in the 2002 charity shield and Dacourt in the 4-0 in 2001-2 season.

The Dacourt one was fantastic, still remember him mouthing off in the press about how he was going to show Gerrard who was the man.Gerrard hit him that hard he did a double back flip and landed in a crumpled heap.He then limped about for a while and got substituted.

Was waiting for this. I noted it - but only after the replay slowed it down.

Like the name calling afterwards as well!

Dacourt is one player who is s*** scared of SG. That game you are referring to there, he limped off past Danny Murphy, Murphy gave him a polite smile and Dacourt said to him ' Im f***ing off before he kills me' And grimaced in Gerrards direction.

I appreciate the wording "one player" because it has to be a cert there's dozens.

It's a good tactic because thte opposition's hard man will often quitet down during the rest of the game. Soccer's hard men , anyone?

Think Gerrard has done very well to only get booked once in the League this season. Maybe the Refs are scared of him now aswell ?

Nevilles sending off was beautiful, i said as soon as i saw his ugly face in Skys formation graphic, at the "heart" of their midfield, that he would be sent off.

I love it that some blues have even been saying he's the 'success story' of this season so far. :D

I don't think he has done much to warrant a booking.
