A dilema for the mighty Bolton

Stevie G and Hyypia need a rest me thinks. And we need them both for the Bolton game on Monday. So for West Brom, I would go for

Reina

Finann

Josemi

Carra (capt)

Riise

Garcia

Alonso

Sissiko

Kewell

Moro

Crouch

and for Bolton

Reina

Finann

Carra

Hyppia

Warnock

Gerrard

Hamann

Sissiko

Riise

Cisse

Crouch

the thought of josemi in the centre sends shivers down my spine. I'd have traore in there ahead of him any day of the week and he gives me the shivers as well these days.

Sami doesn't need a rest, he has had sod all to do the last few games !!.....I think that we should keep the defence as it is.......the only change I would make for wba is Morientes in for Crouch.

naaa, leave it as it is, no need to rest Sami. He can have a rest when we get a new centre back in January.

I can see Traore maybe playing though at left back, allowing JAR to play left midfield. So then Harry Kewell can be rested ready for Bolton.

And maybe Crouchy will also start as a sub, so he can be ready for Bolton as well. As those 2 players can be key players for us in what will be a heck of a tough game I'm sure.

Don't want Josemi on the pitch if it isn't the last resource..

Surely Sami can survive a few more days.. well that's if Rafa works fast and get's a new CB quickly.

Doesn't really look like Stevie needs a rest, but we can easily rescycle the midfield and forward area, so even if Stevie is an fantastic player we could replace him with out loosing that much strenght and quality, the defence is another thing with Carra/Sami cause their backups are schite..

If Sami and Stevie need a rest, i say go 3-5-2:

-----------------Reina

----Finnan-----Carra--------Riise

-----FSP-Alonso-Sissoko-Kewell

----------------Garcia

-----------Crouch-Nando

Alonso and Sissoko work very well with the defence so id rather play this formation and put a little more defensive duty on the two of them rather then playing Josemi in the center

West Brom:

Reina

Josemi

Carragher

Traore

Riise

Garcia

Alonso

Sissoko

Kewell

Cisse

Crouch

Bolton:

Finnan

Carragher

Hyypia

Warnock

Cisse

Gerrard

Hamann

Riise

Morientes

Crouch

This gives Alonso, Hyypia, Finnan and Gerrard the well deserved rest they need...and helps Kewell's injury/fitness situation too. :)

Whenever Josemi has played in the centre he has looked very good. (touch wood. not man wood, but from a tree, in a lucky sense)

Having said that Traore has looked solid in the centre too. Its when they play as full backs that they look like liabilities.

Whoever the CB is, I wouldn't expect him to walk straight into the starting eleven.

As for Bolton, they will be a wee bit fresher than us as they had their game postponed yesterday.

Don't think Gerrard needs a rest, if he's knackered for the world cup, then so be it, the FA shouldn't have made us start the season in July. He's not looking tired yet and is probably one of the fittest in the squad.

But Sami does, didn't look his usual self in the first half last night. Rafa knows he can't play two games a week for any period of time, and has said so for nearly 12 months.

Sami looked a bit off the pace from the word go last night. Maybe it was just me though? He had a tough game last night and playing against Shearer for 90 minutes isn't easy, however much it may look it. I'd be tempted to give him a rest vs WBA as we'll need him on top form against Bolton in particular.
