Whatever you think of him as a player, the lad's a fighter inside. He's decided that if Rafa wants him to play a certain way, he'll play that way even if it's not his preference. He was good in possession today, not Crouch, but far better than before. He made some nice intelligent passes today and took his goal exceptionally well. And not a sulking face in sight.

Well done Djibs! :applause:

Very good performance from him today, his best for us I think. Made a lot more runs than usual, and didn't sulk as much as usual. Well taken goal too, even if he almost lost the ball to Weir. If he continues like this we may have to keep him :o

I really hope he stays because he is making progress under Rafa's watch and could be a cracking player if he continues to progress as he seems to be. Ashame really that he lost so much time last season with his injury, imagine where he could be right now had he not lost that time.

Placed his shot well, which some say he can't do, and linked up play quite well, which some say he can't do, strange eh?

Also nice to see him throw his shirt into the crowd at the end of the game.

good game for him today, a really nice finish to a good move for the 3rd goal.

for me, all he needs to do is start running directly at defenders. he tends to run out wide and get forced into a poor position when he 1 on 1.

It was a shame we didn't push forward more after Djibs goal he could have had a hat-trick tonight.

we had no need to, especially after Neville got sent off. we have 2 more games coming up and it was so nice to see us not having to play in a high gear in a derby game.

Agreed. That's two easy finishes to games on the trot during the busiest period of the season. That conserved energy may be vital.

Yup. We barely broke into a sweat tonight, walked the game with ease. Cisse had a good game too and the finish for the goal was superb, great night.

Top response Djibril, you're showing us you do care about the club and your part in it. In return I salute you as a derby war veteran/hero. Keep it up and Benitez will be deciding between Crouch/Morientes/No-one to partner YOU up front.

iactually thought the man of the match was gonna be djib, harry or Stevie

inevtiably when its aclose call they`ll give it to the captain, but i thought he was fantastic tonight

as for the finish :applause::applause:

Cisse's game today showed many signs of improvement, his ball retention was very good, his anticipation of crouches 2ndary balls was good too,

I was impressed with his passing, it was all excellent and to a man - except for one attempted cross to crouch. there wasnt any great vision but all in all the ball was retained and used well.

I was particularly impressed with one cross field ball to warnock

His finish was good, beat a defender for control and touch and then calmly placed the ball, now if he could do that while running at speed past say 2-3 players and finish or deliver and excellent cross ;) ok, maybe I'm asking too much too soon.

But you cannot ignore the improvement in Cisse over the last few games, if we cannot get a better striker come this summer ( and it could be difficult it being world cup year) Cisse could stay especially if the rate of improvement continues

Really pleased for him. Well taken goal, and a decent game all around.

I deffo prefer Crouch and Morientes upfront at home, hardly any space for Cisse at most occasions there and they've done really well as a partnership, so I think Cisse is a better option in away games like tonight where he's got more space to use his pace in. Nice to see all our strikers contributing, something which characterise the whole team atm, all players contributes in a fecking superb unit.

Excellent performance from Djibs. Maybe Benitez's hard-line is beginning to work? I hope so, because he could be some f***ing striker that lad. 12 goals already...

hope he continues improving, at this rate he could definately offer us something special.

Maybe during the world cup he should room with Henry and continue taking his advice

Could well have put a few more K's on the January price.

He threw his shirt into the crowd at the end. Obviously a farewell gesture as he is going to Marseille.

who knows. me i think he aint what benitez and therefore what we need so therefore goodbye. if he stays it causes he's in benitez plans but long term no....we need someone just like owen.....forget about the boos....this is how it will go ...mark these words.

newcastle fai in euro place bid. lfc bid get out clause. owen joins lfc pre world cup Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy tp escape NFC (also allows max time for NUFC to buy lots of rubbish players.

LFC fans divided.

lampard injury means rooney in midfield with gerrard. owen and crouch show true form ...great combo.

do UNGERland win WC due to LFC new strikeforce...who cares?

just means we expect loads next season & they deliver...as we win 19!!!!

He was excellent tonight, and his goal absolutely oozed class.

Everton didn't have the faintest idea what to do about him. Weir couldn't make up his mind whether to dive in or stand him up, and in the end did neither and got talen out of the game. Cisse's finish was then sublime.
