Gray - YPC Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Which team has something unique on their corner flags? Who is it, and why?
Earl Hafler Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Blackburn. Won the FA Cup 3 times on the trot 1,400 years ago and then the FA changed the rules.

You a statto or a googler? Here's one I've been given, but haven#t yet got the answer for: Who has played for 5 European Cup winning teams, but has never won it himself?
Vlad JNR Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 That Blackburn question was on the Sky Sports christmas Universally challenged quiz. Christian Vieri? Definately 5? Dean Saunders has played for 4!!Posts merged:Which league club is situated closest to the river Mersey?
Earl Hafler Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I knew that...or thought i did. Just checked it up using Google and it's not because they changed the rules but that they couldn't afford to give Blackburn the cup so gave them an emblem on their corner flags.
Vlad JNR Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 They are the onlyt club allowed to display their club crest on their corner flags
Earl Hafler Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Is it European Cup winning teams or European cup winning teams ?
Gray - YPC Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 It's who has played for 5 teams, where those teams have at some point won the European Cup/Champions League. I've got a few on 4 - Saunders, Blanc, LaudrupAnd one on 5 who#s won it - Davids. But not the answer!
Gray - YPC Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 I think this is a dud question, as I can't get anyone on 5, and my mate is not answering!!

Paul B Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Blackburn. Won the FA Cup 3 times on the trot 1,400 years ago and then the FA changed the rules.1128876 Not quite true. It was said that whoever won it three times on the bounce got to keep it but they didn't think it would be done so quickly and when T'Rorvers did it, the FA didn't have another FA Cup so in leu (sp) of keeping the trophy, they were allowed instead to have the crest on the corner flags. I believe.
New York Red Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 OK. Other than Cardiff, Wrexham and Swansea, who are the only team to play in a league in the UK other than their rightful national league?
New York Red Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Gretna?1129264 Nope. Hey, you're not a Jack are you?
New York Red Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Berwick Rangers1129286 You da man...
Murphman Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 (edited) I knew that about Berwick Rangers because they were going on about them being an English team when they knocked Glasgow Rangers out of the Toontown Cup or whatever it is they call it up there. I remember chortling in a rather loud fashion when the result came through. Edited December 28, 2005 by Murphman
