Mad_Fer_It Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Most spectacular goals john barnes and robbie fowlerMichael Thomas hell of a dribblerSammy Lee was a tough little s*** and only scored screamers heheMcmoneyman awesome dribbler as well, we never have truly replaced himHeskey was awesome in his first seasonsCollymore, what a waste of talentMost common celebration back in the heydays was jumping up and down with your arms aloft...Murphy's fk were quite good..Ian St. John was a boxerRushie couldnt stop scoringand I think God is the best goalscorer I've ever watched especially when he was number 23and god oh god do I want micky back, Loved him being a little mischieveous (sp) fellow, the look on his face after he scored was just amazing it showed how he loved the club, he's so miserable at newcastle of course he made mistakes but i'd give him the chance to fall in love with us again.
Guest Red in Holland Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Didn't notice Kenny Dalglish then ? was a striker before he was a midfielder Roger Hunt, Terry McDermot, Aldo, Beardsley, Ray Kennedy, all a lil more spectacular than Michael Thomas for the club. As were most others. Good to watch the 501 goals tho.. try the LFC History dvd, some awesome stuff on there too. RiH

RiH1128854 That clip 'the Kop flies East' or something like that on the special features was great stuff I thought. Rare video footage of travelling redmen going to Hungary in 66'.
Guest Portly Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Ian St. John was a boxer 1128724 I'd be interested to know the context. I saw St. John fell Fulham's Mark Pearson with a hell of a right hook at Craven Cottage - fully deserved by the way.

Mad_Fer_It Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 I also got the LFC history DVD for xmas, of course i noticed those players, but they are obviously already up there know what i mean...
fyds Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 (edited) Mcmoneyman awesome dribbler as well, we never have truly replaced him A great player in many obvious ways - but one of our best 'take it down a blind alley' players too - we didn't/don't need to replace him - that's always a strange revisionist road to go down. Mad_Fer_It Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 It's really weird watching that generation of what could have beens.... Fowler Redknapp Macca, all great players on their day its a bit sad we couldnt connect them with the new generation of Stevie Owen and Carra, might have been a hell of a team with a real liverpool spirit.... Not that I'm complaining with our current wonder team....
