Bailo Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Here Are they buying him purely to a) fill Essien's place when he goes to the ANC and b) to stop the Mancs buying him? Where the hell is he going to play?! Weird, this is what I'm worried about, not buying the best players but buying whoever their rivals want.
chrisbonnie Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 i wonder if they just keep buying the way they do that UEFa or possibll Fifa put a limit on how much a team can spend in the calender year only for the transfer window, as soon as 1 player was out for more 3 weeks, they`d replace him, its a scary thought BUT dont forget, not everyone can play, im sure SWP is regretting it every day, seeing as he`s not playing, he couldnt even be match fit with the little amount of games for them and that list could well and truly go on, world cup year, you`d imagine most players would wanna play, well, we`ll see by whom they sign in the transfer window

Nerik Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I was actually surprised when Mourinho did not take him with him to Chelsea. Maniche was a lynchpin in his Porto side.
Eiler99 Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 The move to Russia was very weird and I always felt it was just a matter of time before he'll go to Chelsea.
jimmylibel Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Good player - would rather see him go to Chelsea where he isn't needed than to the Mancs where he most certainly is needed.

CarraLegend Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 You can imagine the c***s all in the office Jose "Roman, Essien is away for a couple of weeks in January, is it ok if we go and sign someone for about 10m and give him a massive contract for a few years, then when Essien is back he can rot in the reserves?" Roman "No problem, you can have 50m if you want"
Eiler99 Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 He's named after Danish striker Michael Maniche who played for Benfica.
Stevie H Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 they'll sign someone to cover drogba yet as well. probably someone s**** like adriano or summat.

sbaros Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 (edited) He'll make a big mistake if he goes there, he might play 3-4 games while Essien is gone, but nothing after that. Why the f*** are the Manc now linked with Evra though? 1 defender aint enough? Happy with Fletcher and Smith in the midfield? Hope so Edited December 27, 2005 by sbaros
Maldini Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I thought he'd already agreed to go to Atletico Madrid

Slur Alex must either have someone lined up for midfield or is seriously losing the plot. Smith in midfield is one of the biggest jokes in European football. As for Maniche, he is a very good player, and I hope ManUSA are not in for him, and that he ends up in Spain instead. Chelsea buying everyone in sight is beyond ridiculous.

Guest Red in Holland Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Its not too late for SWP. He should just tell his agent to give Rafa a ring.. You never know. RiH Yes.. I think Duff and SWP chose their stall in the end. Duffy would prolly have rather played for us, especially now. Blackburn and Man C wanted big bucks, and along came a money tree.. As an arld fart I shrink with horror, but I still trust Rafa to beat em with less resources available. You can't buy the heart and effort on the pitch. Rafa gets the 150% out of his players, I am yet to be convinced that Mourinho does. RiH
