Sammi and Carra yesterday

Watched the game again and I don't think Shearer or Owen won one ball. Sammi dominated everything in the air, which isn't easy against Shearer(and elbows). It was like two professionals playing against two schoolboys. A lot will be said about Owen's treatment but little probably about the fact that Carra still has him in his pocket.

must've been frustrating for owen and shearer yesterday being ahead of that dominated midfield and up against two defenders who simply wouldn't give them a sniff. could see in carra's eyes how much he wanted the clean sheet yesterday.

I didn't know Luque was playing until the 70th minute and i swear Shearer had one touch in the first half.

It also helped that for 60 minutes we played against a "defence" seemingly determined that we should have as much of the ball as possible. That Titus Bramble was only the second worst defender on the pitch was a pretty poor indictment of Boumsong. £8.5M - you're having a laugh, surely?

It got so easy I think the players lost their concentration in the second half and probably started to think about Wednesday's game. It was almost like a practice game with no thret from them whatsoever.

Sami and Carra were outstanding. Shearer and Owen hardly touched the ball. Our defence is frightingly good.

Did Carra do anything in the game? I don't remember him having to touch the ball. In fact I'm not even sure we needed a defense.
