Mikey Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Probably get moved this but just seen it and its disgraceful whats happening. Liverpool would never get the benefit like that. (trying mods)
danny Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Yes I agree. The whole of the FA are working for Chelsea and they plot against us.
Paul B Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 To bring it back to Liverpool, though, don't let the fact we won yesterday deflect from the referee's poor decision to not award us two blatant penalties, especially the one where Solano armed the ball away from going over the line. As blatant a penalty as you'll ever see.
Joshytoohotty Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 To be fair, it wasn't really much more obvious than Knight's handball at the other end. Just down to Poll being his usual indecisive self and not making big decisions if he can possibly avoid it. Really, can you see him giving him a penalty 5 minutes from time which can level the match up against Chelsea when he's not given them a penalty for a similar thing and has since realised that he's probably got that decision wrong?

Guest Jodus Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 cough Henchoz cough 1128288 But he didn't go at it like a volleyball player! As for Solano's, his body was behind his arm, so would probably still have stayed out...

The ball was going nowhere, there was no danger whatsoever, so for Knight to handle inside the area at that moment would be incredibly stupid. That might make the referee think that the ball must be over the line.
Guest Simon-1973 Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Pumpkin head Terry would make a great goalkeeper
Maldini Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 It's about the 5th time this season he's got away with that.

Romario Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 A mate of mine who doesn't follow football much anymore but knows the game watched MOTD with me last night. After watching the Chelsea match he made the comment "Ahh since the sky thingy I see football has gone all WWF" Hard to argue.Once you're in the special group of the top 2/3 decisions come your way. Just got to get there as I'll happily go along with such decisions when they go our way but it's a pain when it doesn't .That Terry decision and his excuse afterwards was a total joke. That ref should be banned from prem games for a year as it was totally crazy. If we come second this season with around 9 points difference then it's refs that have cost us.
Maldini Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Chelsea tried to say Joe Cole's tackle wasn't a peno as well, it's not enough that the c*** wasn't sent off for a last man tackle.
Beardsley Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 A Chelsea player had a crystal clear handball right outside his own penalty area. Poll stood one meter away and could not have missed it. Still, he didn't give Fulham a free kick (can't remember the player, though, but it was close to the end of the game). I dread the refereeing tonight. We're gonna get kicked back to the stoneage and Poll won't do anything. My hope is for Momo to go nuclear and really show the sh*te who's boss out there.
DanielS Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Crouch and Gerrard should both have been off on Monday so we don't really have much of a right to moan about match officials. If Crouch's goal had not been given it wouldn't have been the worst decision by a linesman ever either - it was an incredibly good and entirely accurate call, but much more obvious goals have not been given this season.

I thought the ref got the whole situation spot on apart from the straight red for the racist-thug. Which is my point - he could have got it horribly wrong and sent Gerrard and Crouch off. They gave him the justification to make that decision and someone like Poll or Rennie would have.
Billy Dane Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 It's not just the top 2/3 who get the decisions though. Look at Riley completely missing the handball by Baros for Villa's first goal against Everton. It was absolutely scandalous, he was directly in line, watched Baros bring it down with his arm and just ignored it. Seems it isn't just Utd who can buy him these days, allegedly of course, it could be he is just completely incapable of doing the job.

He used to do it for us all the time (mostly outside the box - going towards the touchline)
Swan Red Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 The player that pushed Sissoko against Boro only got a yellow which is about right. The better teams always seem to get more than their fair share of the decisions
The Hitman Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 The amount of handball decisions yesterday that weren't noticed was absurd.Simply awful refereeing, right across the board.
Earl Hafler Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 It's about the 5th time this season he's got away with that.1128588 And then you look at the penalty given against Ridgewell a few weeks ago ( the one for handball..i know there's several ) Just really poor, inconsistent officiating.
