StevieC Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Huge difference to our play by giving width and terrifying a FB. Made more effective by the time he's given from the quality of Xabi and Stevie's delivery to him and Risse doing what he does best and overlapping. Well in Harry. Shame he didn't get the goal he deserved.
hagi_complex Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 He's getting there. Another good performance today.
KD07 Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 First I thought he was slowing down our attacks a tad, but then I realized he was taking his time to pick his man. And pick them he did.
Guest spk Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 really unimpressed with kewell and honestly can't understand what all the fuss is about. today, as with the last few games he lacked pace down the side. no evidence of any confidence nor in fact competence in front of goal. really struggled to beat ravage, and threw away posession time and time again. i hated every time he recieved the ball. bored of kewell now. hopefully someone will bid a cheeky couple of mil and we can shift him soon enough. certainly that position in the first team needs upgrading.

Guest Red Mist Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Sometimes all Kewell needs to do is swing his ponytail for some on here to start saying how great he played. I thought he was wasteful and a novice like Rampage or whatever he's called was more than his equal. That cross for Crouch was the only ball he didn't waste today. Considering this guys ability (and pay packet), he should be performing much better.

Keep it up Harry!
crisps Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 he's been ok since he came back... today he did a couple of good things and some very wasteful play... if it'd have been garcia: it would be Rantus Maximus! but i just hope he can build on the positives... as we know he's capable
G Richards Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 I thought Harry did well. Gonzales will be a great option when he arrives, but it's nice to see Harry getting better and better. If he keeps his progress going he will have a great second half to his season.

Guest Les Howard Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Thought he delayed the cross a few times today - leaving the forwards static in the middle. However - when he did put the ball in first time - he dropped it right on Crouch's head. He'd have scored as well if a lesser keeper than Given was in goal.
madaboutlfc Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Kewell was great today.. the guy cant seem to do anything right.. ffs give the lad a break.. hes coming back from injury.. as for his pay packet..that has nothing to do with what he does on the pitch.. we knew he had injury problems when we bought him..
Guest spk Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 this became a stuck record a long, long time ago.

_00_deathscar Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Thought he was brilliant myself! Was involved in a lot of moves.

Eiler99 Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I thought he did really well. Gave us width and gave their full back hell. And a few quality crosses, one to set up the goal. Basically did his job and is starting to look the business.
Kahnee Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Considering this guys ability (and pay packet), he should be performing much better.1127695 Not like he's playing through the pain barrier every match or anything is it, eh? I know I shouldn't bite, but sometimes you post some real piffle
Cooldude Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 He is having a very very good season despite him saying he's still injured
Kahnee Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 He is having a very very good season despite him saying he's still injured1128136 So I take it you don't believe him then
Eiler99 Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Considering this guys ability (and pay packet), he should be performing much better.1127695 This is the problem for me. I don't think people's problems with Kewell have anything to do with how he performs. Yesterday he did exactly what we want from a winger. He beat his man and provided some quality crosses. And still people are moaning. I think it's down to how he performed for Leeds. Or atleast how people remember him from that time. People seem to remember Kewell as some footballing God, and no matter what he does he can't live up to that now. I wish people would realise that even though he was great for Leeds, he was also very inconsistent and drifted in and out of games.
Jacko Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I think it must be the Christmas booze but some of the comments on here are just embarrassing. I think Kewell played pretty well. Should have done better with some crosses that just ended up hitting the fb but some of his other crosses and passes were fantastic. To me he reeks of quality, his touch and awareness are there he just needs another half a yard of pace and some more confidence. Why the feck would we sell him for a couple of mill? To save on his £60k wages????? How much would it cost to bring in a better player - £5m? £8m? £10m? and proven in the Premiership ideally... How much would we pay them a week? £30k? £40k? someone please tell me why on earth we would do that? He may not be the player he was at Leeds but he's a bloody decent player at the very least.

The way some idiots talk in such dissatisfaction at him not playing to his potential, you must have thought we paid 15 million pounds for him. If you think about the 5 million Houllier spent on Salif Diao, Kewell has more than justified the 5million we splashed out on him a year later, with the 13 or so goals he scored in his first season. I do think he should get his hair cut though. I reckon it'll weight him down less...
