Nebraska Red Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 I sat through a good portion of a game today on FSC. Lecce played Lazio and it was unbelievably bad. The difference between the top, middle and bottom clubs in Italy is frightening.
Gunga Din Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 if an Italian watched say, Bolton play Everton, do you think he would be impressed by the football on display? neither do i. for sheer entertainment value, i reckon the Spanish league is hard to beat
StevieC Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Osasuna vs Espanyol would be pretty schit too.

The players looked like all they wanted to do was play out the 90 minutes and have a couple of weeks off.
Benitez Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 (edited) Osasuna vs Espanyol would be pretty schit too.1123786 but still with Primera games you can often get very good football games from the lower teams in the league. Not that Osasuna fit into that category now! Whereas 'ere, there's probably about 4 teams in the whole league that can play decent football Dunno bout Italy, I try not to watch the Italian league if I can help it. Watched the Milan derby couple weeks ago and it reminded me of one of the reasons I've avoided Italian football for so long. A twuntish referee getting everything wrong, stop start game with very little flow, and genearally spoiling the match. And along with that is the fact I always remember it as being unbearably boring Edited December 21, 2005 by Benitez

Nebraska Red Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 diouf, okacha, gianakoplos, nakata are all skilful players1123841 yes, but they spent most of the game dodging daft tackles and watching the ball as it aimed for the stratoshpere. against us, they will get to display their skills.

The Barca/Real w@nkfest and highlights shows (Gerry Armstrong-why????) here make that league to be stratospherically better than anywhere else but after watching some of the dive-fests I can't see how it can be considered any more entertaining than even the dullest Premiership game.
Nebraska Red Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 game for game, regardless of the positions of the clubs involved, you get much better footy and entertainment in the PL. sometimes, the footy is not the best in the world, but you will see more effort and passion in the PL than the other so called big leagues from Italy, Spain and Germany.
matty Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Watched the Milan derby couple weeks ago and it reminded me of one of the reasons I've avoided Italian football for so long. 1123814 And your beloved Milan losing 3-2 to Inter....

It is a shame they tend to show Barca and Real constantly tho. Be nice to see a few other teams As for diving, can't stand it in any league, be it here or Spain or France or wherever, plenty in all of 'em.
matty Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 lol, I don't support Milan you wierdo 1124115 Yeeeeerrrrssssss.
John am Rhein Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Whereas 'ere, there's probably about 4 teams in the whole league that can play decent football 1123814 Is that because all the teams which were 'too good to go down' have gone down?
Benitez Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Is that because all the teams which were 'too good to go down' have gone down?1124145 The league has never been the same since Norwich City where relegated.
