Figaro Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 (edited) Everyone over here knows that they haven't got a decent striker since Oliveira was injured for the season... Serra Ferrer knows it more than anyone. So he has just dropped the only "natural" striker they have in their squad for the game against fellow strugglers and candidates for hell Alaves... Dani has a "stomach problem" according to the club...and has been dropped... Of course he has a stomach problem - must be something to do with the seven odd 'cubatas', (not to mention a beer or two) he had before deciding to drive home in his 4x4 on Monday night Result: he overshot a curve near one of my offices in La Cartuja and was nabbed by the police frantically trying to sober up at the side of his embedded 4x4 and smashed fence... As the point system and instant fining have just been introduced over here - Dani Betis folklore hero that he is gets a 4,000+ Euro fine and has lost all his licence points. He now has his licence revoked for a year The joke doing the rounds amongst the Sevillian crew: Who has less points? Betis or Dani? Edited December 21, 2005 by Figaro
MarkD Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Seriously, what has happened to Betis, Pat? The same manager, the same players - some of whom are coveted by 'bigger' clubs? Relegation is looking more certain game by game.
Vlad JNR Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 its a shame, i really took a liking to Betis (sorry pat) when they came over to Anfield, they were full of spirit and got on well with us, with a large exchange of Betis/Liverpool chants by opposite sets of fans. I'm hoping that they stay up
Benitez Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Real Betis are Hopefully they sort 'emselves out and stay up.
Tones Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Their fans were brilliant at Anfield. In fact they were great the whole day of the game and even the day after. Hope they turn it round.
anfield Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 when are they giving us whackeen?1123430 if they relegated with the players they have , its going to be a free for all as players abandon ship and clubs circle like vultures
Benitez Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 when are they giving us whackeen?1123430 done deal to Newcastle! Another trophy player.

Hope they turn it round.1123398 They won against the worst team in la Liga last night, but it could have been very different... Alaves missed a penalty and a couple of sitters before Betis got the better of their nerves... Their next "final" is against fellow sufferers Mallorca - if they can get 3 points in Son Moix and Alaves and Bilbao lose (against Zaragoza and Deportivo respectively) then they may well be back on the path to safety... All in all they will need at 30 points from the second half of the fixtures to pass the minimum safety cushion of 43 points...
