st.johns Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I've just watched a footy show on MSG about George Bests career. It wasn't bad except , at the end , they showed the highlights of his career while playing Gerry Marsden singing "Youll Never Walk Alone", in the background.
Murphman Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 The Budweiser ads aren't totally tongue in cheek are they?

John am Rhein Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 do any of you know the history behind NFL teams? I didnt think so........1112745 I remember Hugh McIlvaney interviewing George Steinbrenner (baseball). One of the things Steinbrenner said was that McIlvaney was better informed than most of the US journalists he met.
RP Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Is the right answer 1112791 "No-one cares" is an equally valid response.
matty Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I wouldn't make a film about 'Broadway' Joe Namath and play 'My Old Kentucky Home' over it, that's for sure.
spencer Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Hey, I'm almost as excited by the Colts as I am by Liverpool at the moment! Greatness in any sport interests me and the Colts QB is something special and well worth watching. Interesting that Xabi is often described as a quarterback type of midfielder. I agree though that if I were making a programme about the NFL, I'd do my research first; the YNWA error is inexcusable frankly.
