Dunno about you, but I thought he was very good against La Coruna in Spain last season,

 

I'm not sure if Rafa will start with two upfront, so Garcia in the advanced role like DLC away, could be interesting to see.

My memory of garcia in that game is him running clean through on goal, rounding the keeper only then to realise he'd forgotten to take the ball. i though kewell was up front with baros anyway not Garcia

Whether its Riise or Zenden thats a quality side. Crouch can hold the ball up really well for the unrushing LG, SG & JAR/BZ, With Luis and John getting down both flanks to deliver ball into crouch. Defensively solid too.

JAR has the bonus of being more likely to score. Therefore should get the nod. Not sure what Rafa panned when he bought Zenden, considering we had all those players for the centre, Gonzalez on his way, Riise here, and Kewell to return at some point

will garcia play ,will he play on the left ?will warnock play ? raffa always springs a surprise or two ,can never predict him thats for sure.

not really wierd, josemi said himself that he has had good results against betis in the past, and hes gotta start sometime knowing rafas rotation policy.

That is terrible news, I always give a player the benefit of the doubt, ie. Djimi, Diouf etc but Josemi fills me with absolute dread when he plays full back, he's destroyed by any pace whatsoever. Seems to have potential as cover at CB, but I don't think I could handle 90 mins of him tonight.

 

Although on second thoughts he was a decent full back when he played in Spain, so maybe he has the experience Rafa wants. I'm confusing myself now, think I'l stick with option A, keep him away from the side.

The only debate in my mind is Sissoko vs Hamann. Didi was born to play in these kind of games, but then again Momo is in sparkling form....

That would make sense - Hyypia doesn't relish being dragged out of the centre, whilst Carra has played LB many times.

 

Truth be told if we were going 3 at the back I'd rather see Traore (gasp!) than Josemi as one of the centre-backs.

Takes balls to play 3 at the back tonight but it worked against Milan in the second half so who knows.
